It won't overwrite your default GPK, it will create a new file called ".Patched.GPK" inside the same folder which you modified it on.

If you want to remove the mods or disable it just remove the patched.gpk files or move them to a different folder.

------------------------------------Guide------------------------------------

Number 1 Rules of all Modding:
ALWAYS BACKUP ALL FILES BEFORE YOU MOD ANY FILE
Cause you will fuck it up.

What you can Mod:

- Modify/Paint/Add new Textures on the 3d models
- Swap 3D models, like Weapon, Costumes, Armor and etc
- Character Voices
- Battle Voices
- Modify/Paint Enviroment
- Modify Body Size
- Splash
- Loading Screen
- UI/Interface
In Other words, you can modify everything except the 3D Models.

What you can't Mod:

- Extract and Import 3D Models
- Modify 3D Models

How to Share your Mod the Correct Way

- Add a Screenshot
- DO NOT Share your mod with a .GPK. You ONLY share your mod with the .DDS files.
- A README file (Not realy needed)
- If your to lazy with README at least add text file with your name on.

How to use Umod

1. Click on [Add Game] -> TERA.EXE
2. Turn on [use Global Hook]
3. Start Game
(More options will pop up now)
4. Click on [set Save Directory]. All Cached .DDS from the game will be saved in this folder.

Now you are done setting up the Umod.

Click on [save All Textures]. All textures that you are rendering on the screen will now be download to your "Save Directory"
Only use [save Single Textures] if you know how the tool loads the textures,
Warning: You can't load a mod while you have any of the [save All Textures] or [save Single Textures] on.
You must turn them off before loading a mod or nothing will happend.

It can take many hours for the Umod to download all the textures.

You must have the correct Texture Resulotion when you are mod'ing or you won't see anything.
Most of the current cached .DDS that i have got are either for Texture Resulotion 0 or 1.

Dimenions: 256-512 (Texture Resulotion 1)
Dimenions: 128-256 (Texture Resulotion 0)

Casta, Human, Elf has 512 while Elin's are 256

Save your mod as: DXT5, Generate MIP maps

Texture formats

.cstm - Hair Color
Red = Hair color
Black = No Hair Color
.cstm [Alpha] - Skin Color
.diff - Texture
.diff [Alpha] - Transperant (Only 100% or 0% Works.)
.spec - Shine
.spec [Alpha] - Type of Shine, Metal, Leather and etc.
.norm - Adds "Depth" to the texture
.norm [Alpha] - Reflection
.mask - Dye
.rage - Illumanate (It doesn't effect by the Global Lighting)

Saving DDS File

Tera only uses 2 of DXT:
DXT1 - Doesn't have Alpha
or
DXT5 - It has Alpha channel

Skin Texture for Costume

Costume has their own files for the skin textures.
The skin texture is inside the Event_BaseBody.gpk.
Armor and other clothing does not use those, it only for the costume.
You can download it here: Tera - Nude Mods

How to Create your own De-Censor Mod

OMG WHAT??!! Am i revealing my most secret mod?!?"
Lol yeah sure.... xD

It is damn easy to make your own, all you need is a JP or KR client (They have the exact same files)
Copy/Paste the Elin Files and done xD
Yup it is that easy, i did nothing with them, nothing at all.

How to Aquire the JP/KR client

It is obvious that this will be the most asked question then..

JP has IP block.
KR has KSSN block

You can bypass both of them:

JP: Use a Proxy server from Japan, make sure it is transperant and has no info about your location.
KR: Don't bother creating a KSSN cause you cant, instead download a KR client from the internet and then click on the "Tera_invoker.exe" DO NOT CLICK ON ANYTHING ELSE. It will update your client without logging in or a KSSN account.

Swapping Model

How-swap-armors-tera
Swap-costumes-uncomplete

------------------------------------In-Depth------------------------------------

.Diff
Texture and Transperant.

Texture Layer
Desc:
It is the file for painting with
attachment.php?attachmentid=26080&stc=1

Alpha Layer
desc: It adds transperant to the clothing, Tera only support 0% or 100%.
You can find in the channel list, like here with photoshop:
attachment.php?attachmentid=26081&stc=1

Then you simply paint either black or white.
Black = Transperant / Hide
White = Show
attachment.php?attachmentid=26082&stc=1

- Just cause you can paint the whole alpha black doesnt it means that she will be nude, many of the clothings doesnt have any body under the clothing.
Why? There are many reason, like: Not poking thru or clipping, Increase performance, Less work for devs and some devs even doing it just to prevent modding.

- Doesnt have Alpha Channel? You can just make one yourself, click on add layer in the alpha channel, it doesnt always work cause it depends on the mesh, if it has the transperant active, if it doesnt have it on so cant you force it.

.cstm
Body Palets and Hailr Color

.spec
Shine and Shine Type

.norm
Adds Bumps and Reflection

.mask
Dye

.rage

------------------------------------Tips------------------------------------

How to add Black or White Colors

Black: Cause of the Global Lighting so must you make sure that it willl never be true black, cause then it will just look like a black hole, so make them grey instead, it will still look like black in the game.
White: If you dont want your mod to look like a sun, sure go head if not, make sure that the texture will have bright grey color.

How to add transperant to a .Diff without a Alpha

Even if the texture doesnt have alpha channel so can you still add transperant to the model, but it will only work if that model has its alpha channel enabled.
Just add new layer (it will turn in a alpha channel by default.)

Can i add semi-transperant to model?

No. It will only support either 0% or 100%

How to i remove the "bumps" on my mod?

Those bumps are coming from the .norm texture, if you want to remove a bump from it just paint over it.
Or use a norm plugin for Photoshop which will create a new .norm for you.

How to add Skin Texture to your character.

Well first you must have painted the skin texture you want on the .diff, after that you copy/paste it to the .cstm on a new layer and then you make a new layer ontop of it and paint red color where you want the skin.
If you messed it up, just add black color to remove it.

My Character has the wrong color on the skin.

Same as above, you didn't paint on the cstm.

How to add Fake "Glow" Effect.

If thereisn't any glow added to your model so can you create fake glow to it, it is not as good a real glow effect.
Diff: Paint bright color on the area
Spec: Paint bright color on the area
Norm: Paint with high reflection on the area.

Can i change the Loading Splash during loading?

Yes you can find them here:: TERA\Client\S1Game\Splash

Can i Recolor/Modify the UI/Interface? I hate the design.

Yes you can find the files inside the TERA\Client\S1Game\CookedPC\Art_Data\Packages\S1UI folderI have already made a cheap ass version here if you want a template or an idea: www.gamevixenzone.net/hot-stuff-21/tera-mods-45/

How do i add Skin Texture on a Clothing Texture?

First you must paint skin on the Diff.
Diff: Before you starting painting check what colors the skin is on Tera and then copy/paste those colors to your mod.
If you are to lazy just download the Nude Base Event here: http://www.gamevixenzone.net/hot-stuff-21/tera-nude-mods%3B-continue-%5Bgpk-uthelper%5D-1453/#post20796
cstm: Paint Red
spec: Paint the correct skin shine here and same with Alpha channel or you will have different type of shine
norm: Remove any clothing bump and fix the Alpha channel so it has the correct amount of reflection.
Done

How do i make Lace?

You cant make real Lace in Tera so dont bother trying to make it by adding transperant.Instead of Transperance so do you add skin color under the clothing textures, so it will look like it is transperant.

UTHelper is importing the wrong dimension

Save the DDS file either with MIP maps or without MIP maps.
