Using a Custom Follower to Create a Racemenu Preset?

Hi there! I was wondering if anybody knew how to convert a custom follower into a racemenu preset, by chance. The follower in question is from the following mod:

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/70447/?tab=1&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fskyrim%2Fajax%2Fmoddescription%2F%3Fid%3D70447%26preview%3D&pUp=1

I've tried using the Racemenu Mimic feature and even the Alternate Actors mod, but neither have been very successful because I imagine the follower has a custom head mesh and eyes. The follower does come with meshes for the head, hair, and body, as well as textures for the respective meshes. Surely there must be a way to convert these features to a playable character!? Please let me know if there are any options. Thank you :)

Have you tried importing the head? You can find the feature under the "Sculpt" tab in Racemenu. The textures are unique in that I originally made them for a Triss Merigold follower before they were adapted to fit the standard head UV. But otherwise, there's nothing special about the meshes that should cause you any problems.

You can find it in the meshes\actors\character\facegendata\facegeom\"name-of-the-esp".esp\. Copy and paste it into the SKSE\plugins\Chargen\ folder where Racemenu searches when you import.

Pretty simple:open your custom follower mod archive and copy the .nif and .dds from these folders respectively:

<skyrim directory>\Data\meshes\actors\character\facegendata\facegeom\xxxx.esp\

<skyrim directory>\Data\textures\Actors\character\facegendata\facetint\xxxx.esp\

the two files should be named the same (i.e. 001007.nif and 001007.dds)

copy both of these files to your Facegen folder located at:

<skyrim directory>\Data\skse\plugins\CharGen\

rename them if you like as such:

follower.nif and follower.dds

they can be named whatever you like, as long as the name is the same with the correct file extensions.

Load up skyrim, open up racemenu, make a char using the same race/weight of the custom follower, go to sculpt

use the add mask to highlight the neck seam vertices, press the button to import head, choose the follower.nif (or whatever you named it) and accept.

There may be some minor tweaking needed to match it up as you like, but when you have it the way you want it, go to the presets tab and press F5 to save it as a preset that can then be applied to any player char you have.

Sometimes, depending on the head mesh used in the custom follower, things will look very wonky and will need major adjustments or will just plain not come out right. I found this to be true with a few of YuiH's custom followers...the headmesh just doesnt quite look right on certain bodies/weights.  Good luck.

I was just trying to do the same, but using a male (custom) follower: www . nexusmods . com/skyrim/mods/68944/

I've tried with the dds/nif method, with all requisite mods installed, but any race I try in racemenu he looks... very different

(btw, if anyone here knows of a good looking, young male character presets or save I'd be grateful.... I just can't play as a 50-something gorilla!)

I'm having a problem with lots caring Facegen folder. The Chargen folder is not a folder. It opens a text file with Facegen being written in. There is no Chargen folder. There is no Facegen folder. They are not folders. So where to copy the files to exactly in this mess of a notepad?
