[Unofficial] BodyGen - docs

Recommended Posts

Just to bump my earlier unanswered question: Does BodyGen include Racemenu's own sliders in addition to Bodyslide's?

They use the same set of sliders, unless you add more of your own.

However, as of 3.3 the internal values are separated by keys, so BodyGen values will not appear in RaceMenu, they will have their own set. Which is combined by addition.

So if you have BodyGen adding 1.0 Sevenbase, if you go into RM, your Sevenbase slider will appear 0 because its for a different key and you will add to the value if you change it.

The key system is to prevent conflict between mods altering the same morph.

Sorry, I was referring to the sliders under Body Scale tab for NPC.  Are they part of BodyGen or just sliders under the UUNP tab?

Thanks

I have a hard time figuring out if its working at all for me so im curious if i did my inis right im gonna post em below. The goal is some of the unp shapes ive created a set of inis for each npc adding mod i have unless it only adds 1 or 2 npcs.

Scales are not part of this mechanism, scales require more than just a key, the require target nodes, and some "scales" as they appear as sliders may actually be multiple simultaneous targets, I would need a more complex format to express the same concept using scales.

However, you can use BodyGen to create your own unique keys, then use Papyrus scripts to read these randomly generated keys, then use Papyrus to apply the scales, you only would need to do this once per NPC, as once it's in the NiO system it will stay there.

I haven't tried the BodyGen stuff yet as I'm still wrestling with NiO. :)

Posted the issue on Nexus Racemenu posts, and here. So far.... still no joy.

I actually see it working with my female PCs but no other females (no female NPCs... they still have node fighting)

So I have no idea if it's the mods using NiO or NiO itself.

Here's a simple ish template ini i created with some help from expired that only assigns the uunp body shapes easy to add the rest if that's what you want. I didn't include the extreme shapes such as manga i hate em.

I made a mistake in the code, it looks for size > 3 instead of size >= 3, so...

All|Female|NordRace| <-- put an extra bar at the end with nothing after it, should work in the current version but i'll release a fix for it soon.

I had this in a Skyrim.esm folder, but had issues. Moved it to XPMSE.esp folder to see if that would fix it and..... nope.

The 2 SPECIFIC transforms work. The NordRace one does not seem to work. The others are working I THINK.... I say that because the CLOTHES aren't the same shape as the body. Yes, all built with tri files at the same time using zeroed sliders preset in BS 2.8d.

Example:

If I go to bannered mare, target Saadia, unequipall. Her boobs appear to shrink. They aren't actually shrinking. Her naked body is using the RedguardRace morph, but the clothes appear to be stuck on the zeroed slider. If I grab a follower, and use the RaceMenu access from EFF, I can put clothes on her and they fit.

I REALLY want to use this, but it's very picky. Checked for blank newlines at the end of the ini files. They are there. Checked spelling. Checked for extra spaces. I can't seem to find a problem in my files.

Any help appreciated.

One thing I don't get...

I would like to avoid the default "Zeroed Sliders" shape completely. Does BodyGen ignore the default shape on it's own?

In BS2/RM I always have to set two body shapes, like Low at 35% and High at 65%, to get 100% (and 0% Zeroed Sliders).

Therefor I have to use a , instead of a |, right? But does BodyGen try to reach 100% on it's own or would go over 100% (which will glitch out meshes, see for yourself with two body shapes at 100%)

Instead of

Venus= Venus Low@-1.0:1.0 | Venus High@-1.0:1.0

would this work?

Venus= Venus Low@-1.0:1.0 , Venus High@-1.0:1.0

Or am I completely wrong.. :o

That still leaves the chance for 0.0 to happen open.

| means "this random value or this random value"

, means "this random value and this random value added together"

0 + 0 is still 0.

Avoiding the default shape is only possible if you have at least one randomized value that can never reach 0.0.

So for example:

Body=Body Low@0.25:1.0|Body High@0.25:1.0

Link to comment

0 + 0 is still 0.

Avoiding the default shape is only possible if you have at least one randomized value that can never reach 0.0.

That makes sense.

1. The shape of Zeroed Slider was roughly CBBE high weight, right?

Taking your example (Body=Body Low@0.25:1.0|Body High@0.25:1.0), I'll draw the following conclusions out of it, it would be nice if you could clarify them:

2. In the worst case (at 0.25) 75% of the whole body will be undefined, thus be the Zeroed Sliders base shape.

3. So I can't tell RM with BodyGen to randomly simulate a "vanilla" weight number without a single bit of Zeroed Slider in it.

One main thing is, I'd like to have balanced medium size bodies as well. Like in vanilla Skyrim with a 50% body (or in BS2 with manually mixing Low 50 and High 50. Or in RM with Low -0.5 and High +0.5).

But without the big breasted Zeroed Slider shape playing a role. It seems I either got a "Low weight + Zeroed slider" mix or | a "High weight + Zeroed slider" mix. So I have to mix them both with a , to create a medium body with a lot of dirty Zeroed Slider in it:

Body=Body Low@-0.25:-0.5,Body High@0.25:0.5

It's getting late, sorry if I missunderstood something.

1.) Zeroed sliders is the "base shape". It's not really used in any of the presets, it just means it's the shape of the body in the CalienteBody.nif/UUNP.nif, which they share the same.

2.) 3.) Really the optimal way to use BodyGen would be to have a few full-body sliders in your templates that range from 0.0 to 0.75 in combination with partial body sliders like "Breasts", "BigButt" and others.

Don't use any negative values for full-body sliders at all by the way, that's not what they're made for.

"Breasts" and "BreastsSmall" at 0.0 means the biggest breasts (the base shape), while 1.0 means smaller breasts. This only counts for those sliders and a few others, because they're inverted (higher value = smaller body part). Some are inverted, some aren't.

EDIT:

Random=UNP Low@0.0:0.75|UNP High@0.0:0.75,Breasts@0.0:0.5,BigButt@-0.25:0.5,Thighs@-0.25:0.25

Ah, it seems like we're already mixing BS2 and RM memories. In that case...

#7B

 jdods13, you might rethink all of your values, like the -1. Simply go into BS2 and try -100% at 7B Low, the body will be awkward.

These are some that I worked up about 6 weeks ago or so, just noticed this thread so I thought I'd post them so they might be useful to someone.

As you can see if is fairly basic, the elderly is set up incase they are wearing something outside of Remodeled Armor. I also set up most of the followers and wives so I can decide their body types.

BTW, don't forget to leave the empty space at the end of the file.

Anyone get the race filter working right?

If I do:

All|Female|NordRace= whatever....

It seems all females after that get whatever that race is set to even if they are not Nords

I thought it would be interesting to have Bretons generally look a certain way and Redguards another, while Nords get the bigger breasted, healthy farmgirl look and elves get small breasts and thinner body types.

I just can't seem to get the race filter to work consistantly.
