It happened just a few minutes ago to me when I entered the Sleeping Giant Inn. Dishes and trays got tossed around and rattled and fired onto the floor, etc.

Bethesda built the havoc engine into the game, but basically never used it. Then HDT came along and we have physics on actors. My GUESS is that the objects that go flying have some attribute pertaining to havoc that's just never been planned for or enabled and tuned.

Now snap in an actor into the space where these objects are and things get a bit goofy until everything settles down.

Definitely not the mods. But if you have a profile that doesn't have HDT.... a vanilla profile. Shit don't fly. I've NEVER seen it happen in a vanilla game. Only started seeing it when we broke into HDT Physics.

Actually, that used to happen to me all the time in my vanilla game before I ever started modding. Especially at the Bannered Mare. I'd walk in and all kinds of stuff would fly. I would ignore it. And that was with no mods. So I dunno.

quick quote I found:

Crazy Physics

Allowing your FPS to go over 60fps causes the physics engine to go a bit out of control. The slightest touch, even opening a door, can send pots and pans 10 foot away flying all over the place. Whilst this may seem funny, it can have disastrous consequences if a really important item flies so fast it gltches out of the playable area.

This can however be solved by limiting your FPS to 60.

These are 2 different issues actually. There is a second issue that doesn't toss stuff around violently, but rather makes them 'slide' along a horizontal plane. It goes pretty slowly, just around walking speed, all the items will move in exactly the same direcion at exactly the same speed until they hit a wall or other solid object. So this is different from the 'explosive' flying around of stuff that you describe above.

not sure what im doing wrong but i get to the part where i pick what to do and convo ends and nothing happens. ran fnis, have sex lab etc.  thx

If this happens with 1 or 2 choices in the list, then you probably have disabled all animations that are tagged with the tags for that choice. If it happens on all choices, then you have a problem with your sexlab installation.

When added with Defeat this mod nicely rounds out sexual exploits in Skyrim, the relationship adjustments are a fun part and I was curious, could the relationship adjustments be made to work with sex initiated through Defeat or really whatever mod?

Technically it could be done, however that makes no sense to me. People don't typically get affectionate with those who rape them.

I did a poor job of explaining myself, I just said relationship adjustments but I was actually thinking of positive or negative adjustments. Ultimately it would be cool if the adjustments were tied to sexual prowess and if you made them orgasm you would get the plus, if it was consensual and no orgasm gets a neutral reaction, non consensual and no orgasm gets a negative. Rapes and other situations could have modifiers to orgasm chance....to me, this would make sex more than just eye candy. Anyway, for it to be possible it would have to work on all sex scenes so I was curious if that was even possible. I have been obsessing on this idea for a while but  sadly my biggest creation so far is a buggy follower.... :P

The problem is that to get this done, you have to hook into the Start and End events that SexLab sends at the start and end of a sex scene or stage of a scene. As it happens, these events happen at exactly the same time that most people are experiencing freezes or CTDs with SexLab. You almost never get a freeze/CTD during a sex scene, it's virtually always at the start or the end of the scene. Mods that hook into these events are for example SLA (reduces arousal at the end of a sex scene, and increases arousal of bystanders at the start of each stage) and MNC (checks if one of the actors is a creature, and if yes whether a 'nude suit' should be put on or taken off). Edit: I might be thinking of "Nude creatures" instead of MNC - the mod that gives creatures a schlong, to put it crudely :)

I decided fairly early on that I wanted to avoid using these events because I don't want to add additional load in the spots where people are already experiencing problems. That means that SLEN is essentially blind to sex scenes started by other mods. So although it's possible to do, I'm very hesitant to do so.

Like the ideas of this mod, tried but it didn't even start. Been in game for atleast 30 mins and the mod did not load, nothing in MCM, no registration message, no NPC dialogue option. I use SL 1.602, could it be compatibility problem with SL? . Thanks

It works for the other thousands of users so no I don't think so. Without load order and papyrus log there's nothing useful I or anyone else can tell you.

Gotcha, thats why I have been asking questions about possibilities, to see if its even worth exploring. Thanks you for the info.

Is there some way to either lessen or outright remove the Speech gains from charming someone into the sack? It does certainly feel like it's roughly in line with Speech gains from similar persuasion/bribery checks, but in the situation I've just run into playing a character who's a bit (okay, a lot) of a strumpet and decided to ingratiate herself with the Companions after joining up... well, I'd gained a couple levels entirely from Speech skillups by the time I got back out of Jorrvaskr. I fully recognize that that's me being ridiculous and not SLEN, but an option to downscale or eliminate skillups might be nice to avoid accidentally powerleveling a character who makes a pass at everything that moves. Is there one and I've just missed it?

There currently isn't a way to do this (well you could set charm difficulty really high, but obviously that would only reduce the speech gain by making your charm attempts fail more often). There isn't a way to directly influence how much speech skill you gain on each successfull charm in the CK persuasion system, however I could add a slider that determines the chance that you get a skill increase at all. So for example with that slider set to 50%, only half the times a skill increase would be given, set it at 10% and only in 1 out of 10 successful attempts a skill increase would be given.

Edit: actually, I probably can just change the increase, just need to hack my own version of the FavorDialogue script.

I'll come up with something for next version, originally I didn't really feel there was a need for it, but now that I've added the difficulty setting for charm attempts, I already wanted to add a "Scale speech increase with charm difficulty" setting to do essentially the same thing. Implementing a slider that can be set directly is a simple addition.

I like that idea :D.

I found myself in a situation where I avoided to much "playing around".. just because I didn't want to level up too fast.

Can someone please tell me what I must do to enter the "Dibella Altar door" location

The quest that allows you to go through the door starts when:

  1. The "Dragon Rising" vanilla quest is completed.
  2. You are an Agent of Dibella (finished the "Heart of Dibella" vanilla quest by bringing the Sybil to the temple)
  3. You have 25 or more relationship increases through SLEN (you can find your current amount on the "Player" MCM tab)

Some time after completing these prerequisites, the vanilla courier will bring you a Letter from Senna which will start the quest called "Champion of Dibella".

The number of possibilities to do persuasions or bribes is quite limited in the vanilla game, unless you decide to live a life of petty crime and are very bad at it :) So you mostly level Speech through buying/selling. When you use SLEN, you're suddenly persuading 10 times as much as before, if not 100 times, the result is that Speech goes up quite fast. In a way it's fair though, if you spend all your days playing the pick-up artist instead of honing your weapon skills, you're going to end up being a very well spoken dead body when you run into a bandit.

You need to get out more often! Use your arm instead of your tongue!  No... I don't mean masturbating :dodgy::P

If you want to get more use out of Speech in a combat setting, try this mod

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/18919/?

Can be somewhat tricky to get timing right and depending on your keybinds, is really hard to trigger when a spellcaster.

I'm not a big fan of mods that make changes to the perk trees. I think overall Bethesda did a damn fine job and most mods I've seen that do more than add one or two specialist perks are not an improvement on the whole. YMMV of course. It's true some skills are a bit underutilized, but I think the better way to fix that is by adding content that makes use of those skills, rather than changing the way they work. Combat is one of those times when hitting people over the head with a big hammer just feels right, you know :D

The mod I mentioned using mostly just moves a couple perks in a way I think makes sense. The yield system is most useful to me when I don't want to hit someone, didn't want to get into combat for some reason... otherwise, they'll have a dagger in the back or an arrow in the forehead.

I haven't gone in for the major perk overhaul mods either, I don't need the game made that much harder or to have all of the skills renamed and moved all which way. I have made a few personal tweaks in the CK but I think everyone does that.

Love this mod, thank you!

After having everything set to 100% to see how it worked (great), I dropped everything down to the bare minimum, so it would be more of a pleasant surprise in an otherwise vanilla type play through. Forgot about it (have SLEN dialogues turned off), went off on a typical radiant quest, killed the bandit chief, and...oh yeah, this mod!

hey i got a odd issue happeneing.. for some reason my slen started reconizeing all males as female and females as male.. help please T.w.T

You'll have to explain in what context you mean that. Can you give an example? In the dialogues SLEN isn't really concerned with your gender, if you ask to fuck your lover, you will do so even if you are female and they are male, and v.v. if you ask your lover to fuck you, they will do so regardless of gender.

So is there no option so that NPCs will follow you elsewhere before having sex?

No there isn't. If you want to have sex with them in a private place, you are expected to accost them at a time when they are in such a place, using whatever vanilla or modded means you have at your disposal. I didn't want to turn SLEN into yet another "everyone's a follower" mod.

uninstall SLEN

clean the save

enter game

save (without SLEN)

activate SLEN (re-install)

at splash screen don't load a save... instead go to console and type:  coc qasmoke

That takes you to a test cell that uses very few resources. Wait about 10 seconds and then go to menu and load your save from right there in qasmoke test cell.

MCM should register.

try it. Works like every time for me doing this when a mod's MCM won't load.
