Crash to Desktop near Riverwood?

Hey guys there is an immediate crash for when i get near Riverwood i tried to check out what mods are making this happen but no luck

 

can anyone help me?

You have at least one problem in your load order. LOOT does not place Real Shelter files properly. You must either make exception for them in LOOT or move them manually. This has been tested by myself, several players and certain guys in Steam forums that I have reason to trust.

 

- Real Shelter.esp should be right after ESM files, or Unofficial High Resolution Patch.esp

- RSPatch.esp should be last in the load order. Only Wrye Bash and SkyProc files should load after it.

 

This may not solve this exact problem you have, but it is causing a problem that is very likely reason for certain crashes you get.

I had this problem once upon a time, and it turned out to be Expanded Towns and Cities. I don't see this mod specifically in your load order, but for me, the part of ETaC that was causing the issue was the textures it changed on the buildings... so if you have any texture replacers that might affect Riverwood, check those.

Where exactly is the CTD?

Near Riverwood covers a pretty decently sized area.

Is it on the road traveling from the 3 standing stones towards Riverwood?

If so, It could be a problem with the Wolf spawn that is practically dead center between Riverwood and the standing stones.

I personally use A.S.I.S and I get a CTD from that wolf spawn roughly one out of every ten times I run past.

For me, it typically seems to only happen on new games however. Once the spawn works without causing a CTD it continues to work.

I'm not an expert at modding Skyrim, but I am a connesieur of crashing to desktop in Skyrim.

 

I've used many of the mods you have listed, like Climates of Tamriel, Bathing in Skyrim, Realistic Needs & Diseases, Immersive Patrols, SFO and a lot of the rest of it. From all my reading and struggling with very similar issues, in my opinion the problem is many of these mods penny-ante Papyrus to death.  The Helgen - Riverwood Run is a very memory intensive area because it touches several cells at times.

 

Bathing in Skyrim, Realistic Needs and Diseases, Immersive Patrols I know have significant demands on Papyrus. Aroused might too, and I think immersive animal mods are an issue too because they all have their own behavior routines.  Each mod by itself is fine.  Together they tax Papyrus and when something else happens, like when NPCs spawn or some kind of immersive animal, Papyrus gets overloaded  and then it locks up and crashes the game.  Anyone who knows more about this feel free to correct me.  The texture mods aren't as big of a deal as the script-demanding mods. 

 

What I recommend is pick out the mods you want the most, the ones you don't want to play without, then uncheck everything else.  Remove mods until you don't crash on the way to Riverwood.  Then add mods one by one, and run from Helgen to Whiterun every time you add a mod.  You'll probably have to make some tough choices about which mods to do without.  Press * on the number pad to see the FPS.  A low FPS means the scripting is busy.  Also test it with opening your items, magic and save menus, because those spike demand on the scripting engine (again, if someone knows better please correct me).

 

 

Also, to really help with memory, I recommend these if you don't already have them installed:

 

The ENB of your choice or just ENBoost.

SafetyLoad

CellStabilizer (UGridstoLoad, set to default)

SKSE memory patch

Insignificant Object Remover

...and everything from the Skyrim Stability Guide on Nexus.  There are utilities which unlock your cpu cores, permanently prioritize the Skyrim executable when it's running, etc.  I'm using all of them and they've really improved my performance.
