I've ran into a bug that no matter what i do nothing can fix it, the files for the mod HiyokoGeneratorGeneForge_v100a.7z.001 and HiyokoGeneratorGeneForge_v100a.7z.002 give me an error with 7 zip and so i can't extract the files to install pls post an .zip file or tell me if I have to get a certain version of 7 zip i'm try to get mods like this so oblivion has more realistic features.

It's a multi-part archive. Put both in a folder and do a right-click/extract on the 001 file.

oh ok so file two is like a key thx for the info = )

With Win7 the link_morph.bat should work.

Maybe a Windows problem if you have installed the game in C:\program files(x86)

Many Oblivion tools does not work right if Oblivion is in C:\program files(x86)  : OBSE and pluggy often does not work correct.

But this problem is generally known so I hope you have installed your game right.

( Oblivion installation and problems : read my yellow Link below )

But if the link_morph.bat does not work why not copy the files manually ? Have you read the readme ?

* Or you may choose to forget about this thing and manually copy and paste
 things by hand. The auxiliary files are located in the xMorph folder. You
 must copy the files from there and paste them into x100/x110/x117/x125 folder.
 After that xMorph folder can be deleted. The package becomes about 800MB after
 this.

All the nif files are in the right folders (x100/x110/x117/x125 )

In the xMorph folder are the egm and tri files.

Copy all manually and all is fine.

Well, i ran into an odd problem recently, which i would have never tied to this, if i hadn't tested it thoroughly.

I had to do a clean save with HSBE due to (potential) save game bloating, yet every time i disabled the .esp my game would invariably crash after 40 seconds or so, so clean saving was not possible. I then tested on some other plugins, same problem, so it was not HSBE related. Then i noticed that disabling something very low in my load order (set body in my case) did not have the crashing problem. So i narrowed it down by trying to clean save with mods from above and below HiyokoGeneratorGeneForge.esp. Anything below was no problem, anything above would CTD. So i disabled Geneforge, no CTDs anymore for the clean saving process. It seems it has a problem with references when the mod order above it is changed for some reason.

Question: For my sanity, since i assume clean saving would be needed in the future, could i load Geneforge early in my load order, since it only relies on ESMs, and they are unlikely to change anyway?

For reference my load order looks like this:

If you delete a Mod above Tamago/Geneforge... the children in game are messed up ( you get a warning when you load your game)

If you play Tamgo and you change your load order you must first disable all children ( Tamago settings)

If you play Tamgo and the first child is born NEVER change your load order. Thought that is mentioned in the in game Tamago setting.

I know Geneforge has own children races but they have father-mother informations and if the father or mother ID changes...the game does not like "error IDs" .

Link to comment

Fejeena, yeah, errors i would expect, but not outright CTDs, while doing nothing but standing around, in an indoor cell, with no other NPC close by.

The problem with "NEVER change your load order" is that in some cases you NEED to make a clean save, like when updating some mod that needs it.

Would putting in a dummy.esp help avoid the problem?

Or as i said, couldn't i just put Geneforge at the top, right after the ESMs?

Link to comment

If you change your load order and load an old save you get a error message right after loading is finished ( mormally you should quit the game and restore your load order or use the Tamogo settings and delete all children ) AND if you ignore the error message and play with the wrong load order it can happen that your game CTD. ( The error message warned you not to play with the wrong load order )

The Error message:  "TamagoClub:[WARN]%rThe MOD index has changed since the last time the game was saved.%rThis is probably caused by changing the load order of your ESM files.%rTo avoid trouble, please either quit the game and correct the load order or use the data rest command found in the advanced page of the settings spell."

The TamgoClub esm adds the message ! not the HiyokoGenerator or Geneforge.

Yes a empty dummy esp can help ( if it is not a race Mod and a NPC of that race have a child, then you still have a "error ID" for father or mother.)

If I change my load order I reset the Tamago children ( delete all children). Thats why all Tamago Mods are always the last I activate with a new game: If I'm sure I have all Mods I what to use with my new character I activate Tamago.

And Geneforge after ESMs...? try it. But rememer that it can happen that a no Vanilla race still use the HiyokoGenerator esp to "create" a child ( normally that should not happen )

Read < Technical Background >

And the HiyokoGenerator esp creates the children names! So you must place both esp right after the ESMs.

Try it and see if it works.

Link to comment

Yeah, thank you, i solved the problem via dummy.esp.

To minimize this problem, you can try placing hggf right after the .esm's once you start a new playthrough, as you've mentioned. Oblivion really doesn't like racial records being messed up...

Movomo,

I was wondering about the possibility of adding a couple more growth time variables.  This would allow different rates of growth between head size bumps.  Instead of just having a constant linear growth from birth to full size.

It's not pretty (and possibly not correct), but something along these lines:

short TIME_117  ;Days to 117
short TIME_110  ;Days to 110
short TIME_100  ;Days to 100

if age_new < TIME_117
   let height_new := (SCALE_117_THRESHOLD - SCALE_START) * (age_new/TIME_117) + SCALE_START
elseif age_new < (TIME_110 + TIME_117)
   let height_new := (SCALE_110_THRESHOLD - SCALE_117_THRESHOLD) * (age_new - TIME_117)/TIME_110 + SCALE_117_THRESHOLD
elseif age_new < (TIME_117 + TIME_110 + TIME_100)
   let height_new := (SCALE_100_THRESHOLD - SCALE_110_THRESHOLD) * (age_new-TIME_117-TIME_110)/TIME_100 + SCALE_110_THRESHOLD
else
   let height_new := MAX_HEIGHT
endif

Good idea. I haven't given any thought about that. Yes I think that will work... Are you trying it yourself already? Let me take a look maybe a few hours later.

Link to comment

Hmm.. it sounded like a good idea, but there is a problem. This assumes that all children will grow past x100 scale. In reality, they don't, because there may be shorter/longer races.

So, each hiyoko can have a different max height. That means with the new way all children will hit their max height with different speed. (because all of them will grow at a fixed height growth rate with the new way. Shorter race will seem like growing relatively faster, etc.) This conflicts with the old way.

Link to comment

Oops, didn't catch that.  I should have since the variable in the ini is equivalent to days to max height.  It should be something like days to 1/3, 2/3, 3/3 of max height.  I think that's in line with the existing logic.

Or, maybe it doesn't really matter.

v102 RC.7z

; - iFullGrowthTime -

; Number of days that takes until a new-born hiyoko becomes fully grown up.

; Every hiyoko starts from 0.60 scale, and grows over time until they reach

; their maximum height value (may vary depending on their parents' height).

; (NOTE: Setting iFullGrowthTime will prevent i###GrowthTime(see below) from

; taking any effect. To use them instead of this, set this to zero or

; negative number.)

;

; - i###GrowthTime -

; Number of days that takes until a hiyoko's head size proceded to the next

; level(x125 -> x117 -> x110 -> x100). This setting has no effect if

; iFullGrowthTime(see above) is set to a positive number. If this setting is

; in effect, it may take different number of days for different hiyoko to hit

; their maximum height; for example, a hiyoko of 0.9 max height will stop

; growing up earlier than those of 1.0 max height.

In short, simply replacing your current esp with this one will have no effect. To get the new settings to work, you need to set iFullGrowthTime to 0 or -.

Okay, so while i am working on converting the HFB/HGEC meshes to HFBPregnant, some of the processes take a little time, so i started looking into another old pet peeve of mine, namely assigning fixed child genders based on genders of the parents, and/or race of the parents. This seems like it should be possible and not that hard to implement with Geneforge, but i have hit a wall.

This should be able to be done in "hggfFnGenerator" with some simple

Let genetic_father := argv["Conception"]["FertilizedOvum"]["Sperm"]["ProducerBase"]
if getisrace Orc genetic_father          ;(or does it have to be the formID?)
   if getissex male
     set gender == 0
elseif SameSexAsPC                    ;(this of course assumes a female PC here)
     set gender == 1
endif

Since my ScriptFu is absolutely moderately moderate, this is probably completely wrong, but am i at least on the right track?

What i am trying to do here is, Female/Female always produces female offsrping, Orc male fathers always produce male offspring. All others are random.

Female/Female children always being female is already included in the last version of TamagoClub posted in the thread here, alongsde a slider-like gender selector (all male, all female, or anything in between).

As for the script and the race-specific children genders, I'm not an expert and I haven't even look at the generator script, but it looks like the idea may work, though shouldn't the command be "genetic_father.getisrace Orc" instead, since you are calling GetIsRace on them?

Link to comment

@Blaze69,

ah, thanks for the link to the TamagoClub version. Weird i thought i had the latest, since i read through all the threads before doing a new install. Must have overlooked it. So then, most of my script suggestion is superfluous and i only need to add a race check. I think you may be right about "genetic_father.getisrace Orc", i am learning just enough scripting to change most things to my needs (or do some minor patching between conflicting scripts, like for the garlic with HarvestFlora and VampireREvolution). But most of the Tamago stuff is just beyond my understanding so far.

In any case, thank you for the information :)

It would be really cool if there was a way we could implement that into an ini choice seperated by race (both gender and race maybe).

It would be really cool if there was a way we could implement that into an ini choice seperated by race (both gender and race maybe).

Again, I'm not really an expert on Oblivion scripting, but there might be a way to achieve that.

SetBody has a function in the AutoSetBody part of the mod that allows specific bodies to be asssigned on a per-race basis, by searching race names for a specific string listed in the .ini. It's the same thing HGGF does to identify races in order to properly generate the offspring.

What could be done is replace the gender determining code in the generator with calls to a "gender determining" function. Said function would load the .ini and the gender adjustments listed there and adjust accordingly (For example, you could make all the races with "orc" in their name always produce male children if father is male, or something like that). Then for the races that are not specified in the .ini, the F/F and Gender Selector rules would apply, just like they work right now.

Unfortunately, I lack the skills required to actually translate that into code, and I am also unable to run Oblivion due to some technical issues, so I'm afraid this idea is all the help I can provide.

I seem to get the blckhead face for all races except the khajiit and argonian children or based on these races, everybody else is a blockhead. i'm using version 10.3 atm. i hope someone gets to see this. blockhead works on oco so it's not really blockhead.

I already replied to your other thread, but I'm posting it here as well so people with the same problem can fix it:

OCO and Geneforge work together just fine. The reason you see that "Install Blockhead" thing is because OCO replaces the vanilla face texture with just a grey canvas with that text written on it.

OCO uses Blockhead to give males and females their own separate textures (headhuman_F.dds and headhuman_M.dds), so if you have OCO installed and the game loads the default texture (headhuman.dds) instead of the _M or _F one, that means Blockhead is not properly installed. In order to ease the process of troubleshooting, the author of OCO put that texture there so people could notice Blockhead was not working properly and stop them from going all "waaaah this mod doesn't work you suck" on the comment section.

The thing is, that gender-specific face texture doesn't apply to GeneForge NPC's, so they load the default headhuman.dds and thus they show up with the "Install Blockhead" text and gray texture.

To solve this, you just have to delete the "headhuman.dds" texture from "Textures\characters\imperial", and it should be fine.
