Best looking NPC overhaul

Recommended Posts

What would you recommend as best visual replacer for NPC looks? Immersion and lore-friendliness not required at all.

Although i would like matching body and face textures.

Surely not the best, but something i found recently

Unique Everytthing on Nexus. Allow you to use different meshes/textures/skeletons by race. -great potential but need a lot of test-

BTRH Waifu, change the appearance of some main female - greatly done in my opinion

Inhabitans of Skyrim.

Change appearance of every named character.

2 patch, one using Apachy skyhair, the other using basic hair

Lorefriendly. Keep the vanilla touch of NPC.

Inhabitants of Skyrim is the most complete makeover, although it does have a few necessary mods for it to work. I wanted something lighter. So I use these....

I have SBF overwriting the followers that are changed by the other (they're a little more attractive). This changes all the named female NPCs in the game and only requires Apachii hair.

I've tried SAM to make the males more realistic and have more physical variety as well. It works and functions fine in conjunction with SL mods, too.

Thanks.

Although i hoped for something more in spirit of Oblivion's Xeo. Inhabitants looks not bad, but is not even quarter-way in right direction, its way too much immersive and lore friendly. Beautiful followers are more like it, but only touch followers.

You also have NPC 85, I like how it looks but not lore-friendly at all, and it's a women only overhaul.

Almost exactly what i needed, many thanks. And it don't even have that annoying dark face issue every other npc overhaul seems to have.

And lore-friendliness and immersivness are much overrated, in fact i would prefer straight anime-type mod. No such thing unfortunately, instead we have that, for example:

I can appreciate the thoughts and works behind this, but why take mod that don't change much and painstakingly modify it, so it change even less?

You're welcome. ;) And I agree with you, if you want to stay lore-friendly no need for an NPC overhaul, I consider that a good selection of bodies/heads/normal maps/textures is already enough.

Thanks yeah but it requires a username and password and that I don't have :)

Click links tagged "PC" not those on the far right.

English. I don't have ECE and as far as I can tell it works.

K so i just tested this, most of them are absolutely hot. Many unique looking characters, unlike mods like Bijin Warmaidens where they all look 90% identical.

There are 2 problems with this mod:

  1. Many of them have a head seam - either head exported at wrong size or the ECE head missing?
  2. In the pictures in the Naver blog you can see Astrid, but she is definitely not in the NPC85 download when you merge it with the fix0331 update. The mod is also called "NPC 54" instead of "85" inside the main download.

1. Weird, because then the problem should appear on all NPCs if the issue is the missing ECE's head? But this weekend I'm gonna try with ECE installed to see if I get this issue.

2. I have NPC 54 mod too but the archive is smaller than NPC 85 (54 = 26.8MB, 85 = 43.5MB). So I don't know what to tell you. TBH I haven't tested this mod thoroughly, lack of time and already have 2 other MO profiles to keep me busy.

Edit: just spawned Astrid at me, she's overhauled as shown on the blog's screenshot.

No no... i don't have ECE installed, but the Naver page says you need ECE 1.2. I only understood something about "elven ears" though with google translate.

Now look closely at this picture - i guess 99% of all players don't notice, but the head is made for a larger body weight:

I painted red along the seam, and the arrows indicate where you can see the gap/seam clearly. You can compare this effect when you import a head in RaceMenu on a 0 weight body that was exported at anything higher.

It is like that on about every third NPC i spawned through the console. So i'd say it is great artwork, but poor craftsmanship.

Oh and i just saw Astrid in tes5edit, must have missed her before.

@guk: Indeed I also have what you show although it's very subtle on my end, I have to stop and take a close look at it to see it - surely depends of the ENB preset used, when disabled it's more apparent -. I also have the dark face bug with some NPC like Saffir. I tried on a profile with ECE installed: it doesn't change anything, these issues are still there, so yeah, it's a head export problem.

so the npc 85 only does certain women, and not all of them?

It covers a huge amount of female townsfolk, but no followers at all (not sure if Karliah and DBinitiate2 are real followers).

Either way you can load it after mods like "Inhabitants of Skyrim", and then add any follower overhauls before or after it. Just make sure that the resource files in MO are in the same order like the plugins.

I guess this would be a pretty much high-end candidate for users of SexLab Amorous Adventures, if there wasn't this stupid neck seam problem. Maybe someone here on LL can communicate in korean and request an updated version from the author?

... so hot =)

This reminds me, in case you didn't browse much the blog there are also other female overhauls by the same author (therefore with the same issues  )

Female Bandits

Dawnguard

Thalmor

Forsworn

And for a mod called Populated Skyrim Civil War http://blog.naver.com/sidearmf93/90189411188

All of this combined with Feminized Level Lists make Skyrim a better place to be, definitely.

Heh I got all those. So dark elves are not effected. Alright time to look for one for them
