Duplicated animations? I thought I can choose trough MCM wich anims will be registered in SL to avoid this? Or have I missed something?

 

There is a FNIS registration error that cannot be solved. The HKX anims are duplicated. But this is not a real problem.

Fixing the duplicated animations will be solved in version 3.0

I took a look at the hkx files in SL1.6 and they're named differently than what's in NSAP.  At least the hkx files that I'm familiar with.

Ashal has his own naming conventions. But when running FNIS consistence check it shows a number of duplicates still.

It is a scripting issue. in 1.59c, all NSAP animations were unique and new. As some have been moved to 1.60, FNIS recognises duplicate HKX files in a consistence check. It shouldn't be be an issue but I have not done any thorough testing to be able to say if all is good. The MCM selection in NSAP was only to help with 1.59c's animation limit, that's all.

NSAP 2.7c works fine enough with SL 1.6

Just a few animation in FNIS are reported as duplicated, and some registration problems.

But the mod works just fine.

Rydin is a master modder. (Or just extremely lucky :P )

Lol I never said it wouldn't work. I said I don't recommend trying as I haven't tested it. Ashal used NSAP through his building of 1.60 to make sure things worked.

While waiting NSAP 3.0 :angry::), here a quick-maden NSAP 2.7c patch for SL 1.60. Removed FNIS duplicates, from NSAP MCM excluded already moved in SexLab animations. Just overwrite and run FNIS.

Okay, I am really sorry to have to do this to the loyal userbase but I need to make the position clear now. I am disappointed that a reuqest not to upload personal edits/amendments/patches has been uploaded without express permission. I am equally disappointed in those tho endorsed the upload. I personally thank Setekh for speaking up and the silent majority who have thought the same and continue to support my requests. Thanks to Grumpf for removing the file quickly, So from here out I have made some changes to how I will approach NSAP going forward.

 

Firstly, a reminder of the permission:

NOTES FOR MODDERS

With the current removal of the PSC files, any modder who requires to know a certain script, call, tag, animation or anything else should contact me via PM for the information. In due course with the realease of 3.0, a spreadsheet and pdf documentation about the calls and tags will be released to support modders. If a modder requeires the PSC they can ask under the conidtion that the files are not editted, attached, amended, copied, shared, upload or anything similar without written agreement from myself.

 

An addition to the FAQ:

 

 

Q. Where are the PSC files?

A. The PSC files are no longer attached to NSAP and are not for open use or editing. If you are a modder and need something from them for your own mod, please send me a PM.

 

From now on and going forward, I will not openly release the PSC files for the forseeable future until I change me mind. I am sorry that I am doing this to those of you who abide by the rules and continue to support me by following my requests. I'm equally sorry to those who think I'm being a dick and being a drama queen. Think whatever you might but I have made my decision for now. I wanted to do this a long time ago but I kept it open after someone had said how Ashal endorses NSAP as a way to add animations into Skyrim.

 

People looking to use the scripts as a modders resource for their own mods are still welcome to contact me for help or support and can request the scripts but this is how I wish to do it for now. With SexLab 1.60 now being released there should be no real reason for amending the scripts going forward. When 3.0 is released I will added a PDF and a spreadhseet with all the aniamtions, AnimID, NameID, tags and etc for modders to use.

 

I may change my mind in the future but for now i have made my decision.

 

I want to thank those of you who continue to support me, even though many of you are slient and have never spoke in the thread, as well as those who speak to me often for respecting my requests as a modder.

More Information:

 

I remember one time asking Carabose for the scripts to the Bestial Essence mod they made because I really wanted to break it down and see how they made all the events work. As a person still new to modding I learn best from analyzing something in action. But Carabose politely refused. One of the reasons they gave was part due to the fact they did not want anyone to take their work, edit, amend, change, and bastardize the mod from what they made it. In the end I had to accept that.

 

Now when i think about it, I fully understand why they didn't want to share their scripts. Content creators make content for the users and many try to be as open and accomodating as they can be. But there will be times when some wanted it to go a different way and so wants to make edits and then take the mod away from what it originally was. Where as NSAP doesn't tend to have much of this problem as it isn't a quest mod, I did open up (reluctently) to the idea that people may want to make personal edits for themselves. I tend to do this with some other mods. That was fine.

 

What I find is people lack patience and this is when things like this happen. All I ever ask for is people to have patience. When i read the thread and found this on a break at work, it made the last three hours of work bitter as all I wanted was to go home and sort this out which is frustrating. Again I think the majority whoa re patient, even you silent stalkers, but to those who aren't, I am bitterly disappointed.

 

All I ask is don't piss over my work. Don't push me till I get up and leave. Not when I have worked hard to make these possible. NSAP 3.0 is round the corner and CPU has done wonders helping me get to grips with the new script, taking into account a lot of things you guys have been asking for.

I have three beta testers in the wings waiting to start testing. I have one tiny tiny TINY issue I need to resolved then I'll be letting them go wild, giving them some things I want them to test out and see if we can get NSAP 3.0 set up for release! o/

It's a shame that the source scripts had to be removed, as I was using them for reference to make better use of NSAP animations in the mods I'm supporting, but I fully understand and stand by your decision. You asked people very clearly to not upload their own modifications, yet that request is being ignored entirely. And honestly, even if they were allowed to, It still doesn't make any sense for modders to be publishing unofficial patches when the original author is still active and working on the mod, that just creates a mess of potential conflicts for future versions.

 

 

Looking forward to 3.0, and the new documentation. Thank you for all the work you've put into NSAP.

As said though should people need them for something I am happy to supply them privately if it is for a justifiable cause (ie. modding) I really don;t want to have to do this. It may not stay forever. I may sleep it off but right now it's just left me bitterly disappointed.

Appropriate response, Rydin. I saw that "patch" and was like.... "I'm not touching that...."

 

It's a shame to have to go this way, but .... hey... it is what it is. And you're still making the sources available to modders who ask and have legitimate need for cross compatibility and interaction. So... no real loss to legitimate modders. :)

 

Too much work to have someone piss on it.

I understand being upset at someone for doing something you explicitly told them not to do, but the poor lil feller was only trying to help. He was, with undeniably good intentions, trying to back you up by adding a quick fix to NSAP so people could continue using it without having to deal with reference errors or other little mishaps that get in the way of the proper functionality I'm sure you wanted people to experience when you uploaded this mod here. In my opinion it's a bit of an overreaction; I do use your mod, as far as I can renember I haven't posted much on this thread even though I fully support what you're doing here and I have made a couple personal edits that as you can see I haven't uploaded, so take my thoughts with a bit of salt knowing that I'm more than respectful of your work here.

 

I understand being protective of your mod in the same way Carabose is, but this website's pretty tight knit; most of the people here share a goal of creating, supporting and using mods like these, and to come that close to calling it quits when one dude uploads a patch that you yourself cannot work on because you're busy working on 3.0 alongside CPU doesn't feel like an appropiate reaction. I might just be too much of a laid back person, but I'd go as far as being appreciative of the dude.

Anyways, couldn't just sit on something like this, so those are my thoughts on the matter. Best of luck in whatever you decide to do, be it quitting or keeping the mod running.

My thoughts:

* The author of the mod is the one that decides. Always. He/She has the last word.

* The rules of the mod (do whatever you want, do not post it on Nexus, do not make money, etc.) should be respected.

* Hiding the contents of a mod is not really helpful for people that try to learn.

* Providing an unauthorized patch cannot really be blamed. Just do not expect support for it from the original mod author. Blame who created the patch.

* Not respecting a person that is killing himself to create in rush the new release, and is really close to release it. It is FRUSTRATING!

 

I understand Rydin, and I respect his decision. And I share his frustration.

I just think the post that was done was done in a real bad moment.

NSAP is not un-maintained. SL 1.6 is just out and probably we will get a version 1.61 soon.

 

P.S. as a side note. I just removed all my un-authorized patches that I did and posted in different threads.

Uh, never liked drama. Don't even watch drama movies...makes me sad and mad. Lack of communication is the source of many problems. Chaos is the product of the act where law and rules aren't followed regardless of nobility of the act. Know that from my own experience.

 

Anyhow, thank you rydin for hard work and all efforts you put in this mod and thank you vpoteryaev for seeing the need and for trying to help although you should go thorough "regular channel" first. I'm not criticizing you my friend and you already know this :)

well i did see your download link ealier i didn't download it ,i thought i better wait for NSPA 3.0 realease,but you meant to help people,this is a community afterall,its people like you that resurrect abandon mods and we need more people like you in this community,you just forget to ask rydin permission,since he very active and working on NSAP,so you made a little mistake but you were trying to help.

I understand people trying to help but people need to still ask to help. CPU has helped me a lot recently but each time he asks and leaves the decision to me. Cause it it all goes wrong it me to blame and I can take respinsibility.

 

Look, what's done is done. I have a shit day ahead of me at work and I don't want to be put off any more by what's happened to end up ignoring NSAP out of chore and lack of motivation. The beta is almost ready as said and I am hoping to resolve the version update issue tonight.

 

The community is not only about helping but it is also about respecting. We modders don't write all this stuff for you guys to just skip to the download. Helping is great but respect the people who create the content. Fail to do so and they just pack up and leave. And it has happened at least once from what I have seen.

 

Anyways. Enough is enough. I have a beta to finish.
