Mjana's Labyrinth: dead version (no longer supported)

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

To start things off, I'd like to introduce you to your hostess for this tremendous, adult oriented, work in progress dungeon mod, my very own little mage, Mjana:

Mjana.jpg

Right about now you're probably thinking "hmm.... what could this sweet, innocent looking little mage possibly offer me?" So allow me to give you a little background:

For starters, she's quite the devious little mastermind, with more than just a few magic tricks up her sleeve. The door you see behind her, is actually in the basement of her home (and will be the ONLY entry point to the labyrinth). And right now, she's behind that door with her trusty pick-axe (and a few more than willing slaves), carving out her very own, fully functional (and fully equipped for the truly deviant among you) labyrinth of massive caverns, tunnels, and encounter areas. Complete with underground "mini-towns", with every amenity you could possibly need (food, rest, shops, taverns, etc.).

Consider yourself forewarned....

this labyrinth will be dark, VERY dangerous, and "HIGHLY" adult oriented. So prudes be warned, this will NOT be something the weak-hearted (or minded) will be interested in :D

/rpoff

So here we go:

FallsView Lodge. This house serves as the ONLY entrance into Mjana's Labyrinth:

FallsView1.jpg

Commander Lillian:

CmdrLillian.jpg

Commander Lillian is one tough little Breton bitch. She and her grounds guards take their job protecting your home and grounds VERY seriously. So try not to piss her off :P

The Menagerie Central Hall:

CentralHall1.jpg

The Hall serves as your primary point of arrival from FallsView Lodge, as well as a common area for The Menagerie's residents. Just to the left, behind Mjana, is FallsView's basement entrance.

The Plaza:

Plaza1.jpg

Located in the far south of The Menagerie, the Plaza serves as the reception area for prisoner/slave arrivals. As you can see, not everyone survives the trip :)

The Northwest Passage:

NWPassage1.jpg

Located on the northwest corner of the central hall, Northwest Passage is where your adventure deeper into The Labyrinth will begin. Down this passage you will eventually find many doors, leading to various "other" types of areas ;)

It will also be where doors to cells created by others will be located (again, my ONLY requirement is that you place an entrance/exit doors that I can connect to the doors I'll be placing along the passage).

The Inn's future entrance:

InnDoor.jpg

The door you see behind Mjana is where the inn will be located (which was actually started last night). It's located at the very end of the Northwest Passage. Considering Mjana's deviously distasteful frame of mind, this inn will be quite "special", if you catch my drift

Remember, this is simply the central hub version. So don't expect to be able to do anything more than just have a look around. But as I complete new areas, this is the file that will be updated. The date after the attachment, is mostly for my own use to track versions, but can also serve as your indicator that you have the most current file.

In case you were wondering what was so "red" about RedLight Palace:

RedlightPalace3.jpg

Meet Mistress Mjona, the palace hostess:

MistressMjona.jpg

Mistress Mjona takes the security of the palace very seriously... so seriously in fact, that she's hired the biggest, baddest bitches in all of Tamriel to oversee the task:

RedlightPalace5.jpg

I wouldn't put them to the test... you only see two here. There are 5 ;)

They also keep the palace "entertainment" in line:

PrisonerQuarters.jpg

Especially since this guy likes to occasionally get a bit rough with the ladies:

PrisonerQuarters2.jpg

I hope you enjoy your stay :)

Update: 3/3/12

So I'm FINALLY back on track, and ready to turn Jewel loose on your Skyrim experience :P

So here we go:

First, the initial Jewel was a playable Dremora race, which I imported into Mjana's Labyrinth, duplicated as an npc mod, and then created Jewel from the bas of that mod. However, the resulting companion was far too uncooperative (and much hilarity ensued), so I scrapped that idea and started over from scratch.

The results from simply duplicating, and then heavily modifying an existing race have proven to be much more acceptable (albeit a bit more limited, for now). At some point in the future, I'll be revamping ALL of the Labyrinth's npcs. But for now, I just want to get back to work on expanding the mod. So most of what I'll be adding in the near future will be basic, with some custom stuff added in as I go. What I mean is this: the new combat dungeon addition I have planned, will contain the typical vanilla npcs, but as you progress deeper into the dungeon, you meet things like demon mini-bosses and end-bosses.

About Jewel:

Seen here, prior to racking up my bounty in Whiterun Hold LOL

Pic1.jpg

She's based from the Dremora race, but the creation kit is very limiting in what you can and cannot use in tandem. Such as the custom hair not being usable with the dremora horns (for now). I want to add the horns to the hair nifs, so I'm playing around with nifscope. Once I get it sorted, I'll post the file as a simple replacer you can just drop in your data folder. I'm also considering importing the armor into the Labyrinth mod, so it can become a permanent part of her inventory, but I want to make sure it can be upgraded/enchanted. (does anyone know who I might need permissions from to include it, or if it's necessary?) For now, I've included the armor as a separate .esp, so you'll need to get the armor through the console and equip her manually. The hair will be an automatic addition (and should use whatever texture/color you currently have installed for vanilla dremora hair).

Being Dremora, she'll need to be picked up and returned to Fallsview manually. If you dismiss her in a town, be prepared to pay a ridiculous bounty, as she'll fight anything and everything in sight. She's an essential npc, so don't worry about getting her killed. She starts at level 10, with a full compliment of perks. And for now, just a couple of spells that I was sure she'd use without issue (she's a mage class, so no annoying bow and arrows to remove every time you change areas). I'll be adding many more advanced spells to her later.

In action:

Pic2.jpg

When she finished with the Imperials, she helped herself to this poor Merc looking to collect my bounty which she incurred upon me :P :

Pic4.jpg

And here we are, back in Whiterun after paying off my bounty LOL:

Pic5.jpg

Other changes/fixes/additions:

1) The navmesh around Fallsview Lodge has been completely revamped to acommodate companion pathing (moving Jewel out of and back into Fallsview was quite frustrating without fixing this, and I didn't want any of you to go through the same thing, so I went ahead and got it out of the way :D ) I still need to make some minor adjustments to the navmesh in other areas of the mod, but it's nothing pressing that needs to be done right away, with only a couple of minor pathing issues between Fallsview and Redlight.

2) The guards around Fallsview have been removed for now, because they couldn't play nice with Jewel. They'll return when they can learn to behave ;)

3) Replaced the workbench in the stable with one that actually works! (I also added a chest to store material in if you like, but be warned that they may be lost in a future update if you don't remove)

4) Added some "mood lighting" to Fallsview's lanterns :)

5) Placed working lampposts between the start of the path up from Fort Amol and the lodge to facilitate locating the path and finding the lodge easily (so no more "hints" :dodgy: )

6) For now, the mod will be packaged in a .rar file to facilitate new users who will need the armor and hair files for Jewel. Once/If I import the armor into the base mod, I may return to attaching just the base .esp file.

So here you are (read carefully for advanced armor info):

MjanasLabyrinthPlus.rar 3/3/12

Just extract the folder to your Skyrim directory, and accept the overwrite of the MjanasLabyrinth.esp. If you already have the Dark Lilith armor with custom/altered textures, extract the folder to another location, and just add the Labyrinth .esp and hair folder manually. If you have the armor as it was originally released, it will simply overwrite your existing files with no other changes.

Secondary update:

This should fix Jewel's face tint issue, as well as add her warpaint as initially intended:

JewelFaceFix.rar 3/3/12

JewelFaceFix.jpg

Just extract it to your Data folder, and it will add Jewel's head mesh and textures automatically.

In the works:

I'm finally going to start on the Labyrinth's first combat dungeon this afternoon (I'm hoping to add in a quest angle as well, which you might get from Jewel, or perhaps Mistress Mjona in Redlight. We'll see how it goes). I'll likely make some other adjustments/fixes in other areas of the mod as I go, mostly depending on the connections to existing areas, and what might be required to facilitate those connections. I'm thinking this will be about a week long project, but I'll throw up some pics of things as it progresses in later posts.

Total overhaul of ALL Labyrinth npcs. I'm researching the possibility of creating an entirely new faction that all friendly npcs of the mod will share.

And a request:

Does anyone know where I can find info/tutorials on how to create/convert/add the .esp to an .esm file (the creation kit offers no such option), so stored items won't get lost/removed in future updates? I'd greatly appreciate any leads anyone can provide.

Enjoy and TIA, Trykz

I'm definitely caught :P Sounds like a lot of fun' date=' I will be watching with anticipation and If you need any help on somethings let me know! :D

Also, what outfit is that? heh

[/quote']

It's Ly Witch armor. You can find the link in the first post on this page. Enjoy!

And if you want to build a branch dungeon, I'd be happy to have a look at what you can come up with (it doesn't have to be populated, just a base, themed dungeon I can connect to). I'm starting with the main cavern, which will take a bit of time because it will be an entire underground city, with anything and everything you can find in any vanilla city (think Solitude), as well as a few new things of my own doing :P

I'm sure you have a general idea what direction I want this to go, so just be sure to build with those parameters in mind, and anything I include from you will be a tremendous help, for which you'll be fully credited ;)

As you can see here, FallsView is now connected to what I have officially dubbed, The Menagerie (based on Skuldafn01, with many "alterations"):

Menagerie1.jpg

The Menagerie will be the central hub of the Labyrinth. It's where you'll find fully functional amenities, such as an inn to rest up at, and tavern to unwind after a long day of dungeon running/dragon killing. Or shops from which to resupply. It will also connect to many of Skyrim's vanilla dungeons, as well as various "other" places I have in mind (no hints for this... I want them to be a complete surprise :P ). For some, you can enter in your birthday suit. But for others.... well, it will pay to be armed to the teeth :P

Remember, FallsView's basement will be the ONLY entrance into the Menagerie, which will be the ONLY way to delve deeper into Mjana's Labyrinth. There will be many exits to places all over Skyrim. But once you exit, you'll need to re-enter through FallsView. It's a one-way trip, and everything you encounter as you delve deeper, you'll encounter again on the way back up should you choose an extended visit, and return to The Menagerie from within :D

When The Menagerie is finished, I'll post an update for you to check out in game, and a few screenies for those still considering whether to participate or not.

With that, I'm off to bed. Night night

Construction of The Menagerie continues:

Menagerie2.jpg

I'm thinking I'll start on the inn wing soon. The prisoner carriage has arrived, and I just need to finish populating The Menagerie, and moving a few things around.

Judging by some of the replies here, I see we're all in a similar state of mind ;)

Soon......

I'm still curious about the adult setting here' date=' is it gonna be for all walks of life here or just focused mainly on man to woman?

[/quote']

Let me put it this way.....

Mjana's Labyrinth is shaping up to be a tremendous piece of work. Nothing, and I do mean N O T H I N G is going to be left out if I have anything to say about it. Every time I work on this, or check the comments here, I'm inspired by new ideas that I simple HAVE to include in one way or another.

I have no plans on stopping expansion within the mod itself, or even into other mods already in their planning stages. The isn't going to just expand. It's going to "evolve" ;)

I don't just "plan". I create RIGHT NOW, as far as I can, even if some things are restricting fully fleshing out what I intend to end up with (such as the adding new, triggered animations issue). Here's the thing..... it's but a matter of time before those hurdles are jumped. The difference is, my perfect setting will already be in place, in many more ways than one.

They already found a workaround for the animations, DocClox is working with it as im sure many more are =D if you go to this thread:

about half way down, Fore, who came up with the solution posts what he did.

Also DocClox talks some more about it on this page:

Excellent news! Thank you for the links. I'll have a look a bit later tonight.

In other news, The Menagerie is now fully integrated into FallsView Lodge:

Menagerie3.jpg

Just a few more areas to populate, and then I can work on adding the right AI packages to the occupants. Then I'll start adding doorways to other cells, after which I'll update the attachment so you can have a peek.

I'm torn between the Solitude and Markarth style inns. I like them both quite a bit, so I may put one or the other deeper in the Labyrinth :)

Just a quick note:

I'll be updating this to V1.15 within a day or two, making The Menagerie available to check out in game (remember, it's just the hub for The Labyrinth, so don't expect more than just some eye candy). Just a few more doors, some additional npcs, some minor npc AI adjustments, and additions/fixes to FallsView.

From now on, all updates to the adult version of FallsView will be posted to the original post in this thread, so the adult version is currently unavailable while I finish up The Menagerie.

I have one or two more minor updates to the non-adult version, and then I'll be focusing all of my attention on this version.

Stay tuned!
