2018 April 30 - Minor Fix for Wild Style Pubic Meshes

Changed the Wild style meshes biped slot from "32" to "52".  The new meshes replaces those from the Painted Lady mod and CBBE/UUNP Bodyslide ShapeData.

The archive contains both the MESHES folder (Painted Lady) and CALIENTETOOLS folder (Bodyslide).

2014 October 20 - MAIN_PaintedLady_REDONE_v1.0-20141020.7z

  • I have made an alternative method of adding the pubic hairs into the game. The hairs are accessible from ShowRaceMenu via HAIRS ADDITIONAL slider under the HAIRS category.
  • SKSE is not required.
  • Works with the vanilla slider and ECE and should be compatible with RaceMenu.
  • Added an optional Master file for Beast races.

*** ABOUT ***

Spoiler

The Painted Lady REDONE v1.0
Changed the way the pubic hairs are added into the game. The hairs can now be selected in ShowRaceMenu, but each pubic hair is still compatible with certain bodies.

What is new?
Pubic hairs are now selected via the HAIRS ADDITIONAL slider under the HAIR category in the character creation menu. No SKSE plugin.
Adding the pubic hairs to NPCs has become a little easier.
NPCs can use different pubic hairs without affecting the player and other NPCs.

What remains the same?
The pubic meshes are still compatible with certain bodies. See ABOUT - The Painted Lady v1.0 (original).
The pubic hairs will still clip through underwear and form-fitting clothes so the solution to this remains unchanged.
The pubic hairs still matches color with the main hair and retains that color.

The Painted Lady v1.0 (original)
This adds color-changing, pubic meshes to various body types by way of an SKSE plugin. Based on the same pubic meshes by DorkDiva and NuclearSatan which had problems retaining the assigned colors when reloading a game save or restarting the game.
I found a way to fix this by adding the meshes as additional headparts to whichever hairs are present in the game.

Pros:
The pubic hairs matches the color assigned to the main hair.
The pubic hairs retain the assigned color.
Works with vanilla and most hair mods (does not work with the Elin hairs, but does work with custom hairs for that race).
Can wear certain types of outfits (i.e. crotchless) and labia jewelery without the pubic hairs disappearing, however...

Cons:
The meshes are not part of the body and when wearing underwear or form-fitting outfits, the pubic meshes are not replaced so they will peaking through. This does not happen with bulky clothes or armors.

Solution:
Use Outfit Studio or 3D modelling program of choice to make alterations to that part of the clothes or armors affected.
See INSTRUCTIONS.

What Hairstyles are Available? (see SCREENSHOTS)
Works nicely with CBBE, ADEC, and UNP

  • Bush
  • Wild (bushier version)
  • Landing Strip

Body specific

  • Untamed - CBBE
  • Untamed - UNP
  • Untamed - UNP Skinny

Bodies Tested

  • CBBE/CHSBHC/Manga/ADEC
  • UNP/UNPB/UNPC/Dreamgirl/7base Bombshell

Can Followers and NPC Replacers use These Pubic Hairs?
Yes. See INSTRUCTIONS.
2014 October 17
IMPORTANT UPDATE TO THE INSTRUCTIONS. I forgot to add the part where you need to add the pubic hair form to the NPC's Character Gen Parts.

Caveat. At this moment, the follower/npc replacer can only use the same pubic hairs as your own character. The reason is if you give them a different pube style, one plugin will override the other.

Using Outfit Studio to Fix Pubic Hairs Clipping Through Clothes and Armor

Spoiler

Step 1
File > New Project

post-64505-0-50137300-1413578936_thumb.jpg

Step 2a (pic 1)
- Select 'Use an Existing Slider Set'
- Browse to the pubic hair folder and select the mesh.
- Click 'NEXT'.

post-64505-0-21346000-1413578937_thumb.jpg

Step 2b (pic 2)
- Select 'Load from a .nif File'.
- Browse to the clothes or armor folder and pick min weight mesh (_0.nif).
- Click 'FINISH'.

post-64505-0-02427200-1413578938_thumb.jpg

Step 3a (pic 3)
- You should see the pubic mesh as the reference and the armor or clothes as the editable object.
- Go ahead and make the edits to remove any clipping.

post-64505-0-71070500-1413578938_thumb.jpg

Step 3b (pic 4)
- When done, go to
File > Export Current and click 'Export NIF'.

- When saving the edited mesh, append to the filename so that you don't overwrite the original file (example 'panties_0_edit.nif').

Step 4
Do the same for the max weight mesh (_1.nif).

The Painted Lady REDONE - How to Add Pubic Hairs to Followers and NPC Replacers

post-64505-0-64497300-1413891286_thumb.jpg

STEP #1
- In CK, double-click on 'PubicMeshColorRE.esm' along with your Follower/NPC Replacer plugn (as Active).  When saving any edits, 'PubicMeshColorRE.esm' will be added as a dependency.

post-64505-0-19433800-1413891287_thumb.jpg

STEP #2
- Under ACTOR > ACTORS locate the NPC you want to edit and double-click on their Actor form.
- Go to the CHARACTER GEN PARTS tab and leave that window open.  Pay particular attention to the BASE HEAD PARTS section.
- From the navigational panel on the right, go to ACTOR > CHARACTER > HEADPART > FEMALE and in the search box above type 'pubichair'.  You will see 7 pubic hair forms.

IMPORTANT
PubicHair is a dummy form that serves to add the new slider to the female races and the default position in the slider that does not add any pubic hairs.

- Choose one of the pubic hair forms (not the one named 'PubicHair') that fits the body you give the NPC and drag-n-drop to the NPC's BASE HEAD PARTS list.  This will add the pubic hairs as FACIAL HAIRS.

- Click OK and save the edit to the plugin.

post-64505-0-55156200-1413891287_thumb.jpg

STEP #3
- Since now you altered the face gen, you will now need to recreate the facetint.  Click on the NPC you edited (if editing multiple NPCs, choose all of them).
- Hit CTRL+F4 to make CK create all new facetints for the NPC(s) you edited.

DONE

The Painted Lady Original -How to Add Pubic Hairs to Followers and NPC Replacers

STEP 1
- Start the Creation Kit and Click 'FILE > DATA' or just click on the Folder icon (load Master/plugin files).
- Double-click the custom follower or NPC replacer plugin and set it as ACTIVE.
- Double-click the 'PubicMeshColor.esp', but do not set as ACTIVE.

post-64505-0-28993100-1413579150_thumb.jpg

STEP 2 (pic 1)
- When CK is done loading the records, Go to 'ACTORS > CHARACTER > HEADPARTS.
- In the search filter above, type 'pubichair' and you will see the form record from the pubic mesh color plugin.

post-64505-0-59608000-1413579150_thumb.jpg

STEP 3 (pic 2)
- Double-click PubicHair and a window will pop-up.
- Rename the FormID and Name.  This ensures the form record will be added to the custom follower.
- Click OK.

post-64505-0-87939300-1413579150_thumb.jpg

STEP 3 (PIC 3)
- Select either YES or NO to create a new form.

UPDATE

post-64505-0-11363200-1413595737_thumb.jpg

STEP 4

- You will need to add the new form to the NPC's Additional Head Parts via the Character Gen Parts tab.  This is what makes the pubic meshes appear on the NPCs.  Any info I had given prior stating it was added by SKSE is not true in regards to NPCs.

STEP 5
- When done, save the changes to the plugin.

DONE.  Now all you need to do is either keep the follower's current hair color or reassign an new color.

Link to comment

First thing, bring up the console (hit tilde key) and type TWF.  Everything will be in wireframe mode.  See if the pubic hair mesh is in the body.  When done, type TWF 2 more times to return to normal.

If you see it, try a different pubic option.

If not, check that you have SKSE installed and PubicMeshColor.esp enabled in your load order.  In game, enter race menu and switch to another hair, this should make the pubic hairs appear.

EDIT

What nitrobum said.

I was searching for something like this all earlier. Then I took a nap when LL seemed to go down. So my question is, I have an extensive npc overhaul mod. With every female npc edited in some way. Mostly adding apachii hairs. And removing dirt. To have this applied to all of them. Would I need to go through and create the edit for every npc individually? And then export the new headmesh?

@Deathbydestiny

The pubic mesh is added to the hairs as an additional hairpart much like hairlines.  As long as the custom hairs is playable for the PC, the pubic meshes will appear, again, like the hairline for any particular hair.

NPCs work in a similar fashion, but you need to allow them to have access to the pubic hair form just like when giving them custom hairs.  The pubic mesh has to be added the the NPCs Character Gen Part as an Additional Head Part.  Updated the instructions.

@malpolon

You can try editing the EMISSION COLOR for the pubic mesh using Nifscope.  You can also tweak the EMISSION INTENSITY and ALPHA.

(my hairs match in color intensity though the only difference is I have long, wavy head hair and my crotch looks like it's eating an afro).

(also look up "fire crotch").

You only need to add the pubic hair form to the overhaul plugin.  The SKSE plugin will dynamically add the pubes to the NPCs so no need to add to each and every hair or NPC.

EDIT

I just remembered that you'll need to add the pubic hair FORM ID to the NPC's Character Gen Part - Additional Head Parts section (bottom right).  So yes, you will need to edit each NPC.  The SKSE plugin only works directly with the PC.

Link to comment

Could it be done in tes5edit, or will I absolutely need to get the CK again? And what hair mods would be supported automatically?

If you are more comfortable using TES5edt then yes, it can be done.  You'll need to add the pubic mesh as additional headpart and make sure to flag it as MISC and NonPlayable.

Also, I now recall that in order for the mesh to appear on the NPC, you will need to add the FormID to the NPC's Character Gen Part.  Drop the FormID into the 'Additional Head Parts' section.

I'll need to update the OP with this bit of info.

UPDATE

Sorry, I completely forgot about a crucial step when adding the pubic hairs to an NPC.  I updated the instructions (new screenshot and info in red).

I forgot to mention that after adding the pubic hair form to the follower plugin, you will then need to add the new form to the NPC's Additional Head Parts located in the Character Gen Parts tab.

post-64505-0-97240400-1413596291_thumb.jpg

Not doing so will prevent the pube hairs from appearing.  All comments I made earlier to the contrary, just disregard.

Thanks!. I have no experience with Nifscope, but while i waited for your reply i went into CK and changed the base color from None to something i thought would suit my needs. And it Works! :)

Seems that I can add as a headpart to my plugin for npc editsin tes5edit, But I will also need to open the CK and regenerate npc headmeshes and textures to counteract any grey face bugs. Now if only there could be different id's for each mesh. Made as nonplayable. So that there can be a wide variety of pubes in a game.

Edit: Such as my idea of Olfina Greymane with a nice landing strip, Ysolda going bushy, Solitude Jarl (can't remember how to spell her name so not going to try) being shaved, and the various forsworn bandits being untamed.

Holy sh*t covered testicals, I was going to try the EXACT same thing almost a year ago to try to solve the color issues with color changing pube meshes. Except I also wanted to make them changeable like different hair styles in Racemenu or ECE. Any plans for an update like that in the future?

Also, glad to know it would have worked had I not given up on the idea..

Thanks for this :)

I did a quick test on this and generally i like it. BUT: Pubic hair color is lighter than hair color. My PC is dark blond and her pubic hair is white. In RL pubic hair tends to be darker than hair on the head. Any way to fixt this?

Try this:

Darker Pube Textures.rar

I haven't tested it myself yet as a heas up, so I don't know how it's going to look.

EDIT: I tried those they look almost completely black

These are a little lighter:

Darker Pube Textures.rar

Over all they still look lighter than the hair (barring the darker colors approching black). But I think that may have something to do with the way the meshes are set up and behave in the light rather than just the texture.

Thanks alot for all the trouble this is causing me. I've shamefully been inspired to rebuild that NPC edit from scratch. This time I'm omitting ren and cazy hairs. I'm awaiting permissions. But hopefully I can include SGHairs, Apachiiskyhair !.5  and 1.4 female. And I kindly ask your permission to include the colour matching pubic hairs. (I'm gonna build it anyhow for my own use,  need permissions to share with others.) I shall edit every vanilla female npc in the game(excluding children, the elderly, khajiit, and argonians..the kitties are fuzzy enough already and no hair for the lizards), and a few prominent male npc's to my own taste (mostly making Ulfric resemble Freddy Mercury, My character needs a nice moustache ride!!!)

On another note could you include an opton to seperate the player option from npc options. IE differently named nifs for the varients for npc additions and headpart entries for each new nif in the esp.  That way I could choose my characters pubes and various npc's could have a different variety.  I expect I'd use wild for my character, want to put the landing strip on some noble type npc's, and untamed on forsworn/bandits. Have it where it can install all options for npc's with the prominent choice being  body type.   Also it needs a more Harry from Harry and the Hendersons look for Delphine. (okay that was just kidding but it might be fun lol)

Anyhow very many thanks for making this!!

WOW! That did the trick. Used the first file and i really like the color now. Thanks a lot!

Now color is in place, but i'm not really happy with the shape (i'm using wild or untamed version). Natural, untrimmed, female pubic hair tend to be almost triangular in shape, the upper edge an almost straight line. This is normal for "hairy" females. Belive me, i know, i'm an old hippie from the days when hair was never cut or shaved. :D

I'm thinking of a way to change the pubes in-game without having to use showracemenu, like how bodychanger works.

Regarding permission, I'll check with the others then post something official.

Renaming the different hairstyles is something I tried around the time this was released.  Still, one will override the other.

Possible future update, but atm, allowing NPCs to use their own without affect the PC or other NPCs is top on the priority list.
