Meant as an answer to curiosity/ people wondering, and something of a tool for modders/ industry survey (helps to know your demographic!)

Yes, I know that definitions of genders and sexualities vary, sometimes dramatically. However, this is not the forum for semantic nit-picking, nor for arguing those definitions, nor for attacking the correctness and/or existence of certain genders and sexualities. Also, people can identify as a term for personal reasons even if they don't precisely fit the usual definition

These lists are by no means inclusive. Some of these terms are probably interchangeable

Please feel free to comment with your identity, why you're here, any elaborations, and how you define your identity!

I didn't include romantic orientations, nor whether someone's gender aligns with their sex-assigned-at-birth. When elaborating, feel free to include (or not include) that information. Romantic orientations largely fall along the same general lines as sexual orientations.

(Also didn't include variations in biological sex, partially since no one quite agrees on how many sexes there even are - I've seen very good arguments for at least five biological sexes)

As for me: female-leaning genderfluid, female assigned at birth; lesbian, gynoromantic ambiphile, somewhat zoosexual; here for porn, sexual immersion, romance, and hard-to-find mods/ mods not on Nexus. Porn - both general, and fantasies that would be difficult/etc in real life (no magic in meat-space, lack a partner I trust willing to indulge rape fantasies, my character can't permanently die or be maimed but I sure can)

General definitions of uncommon terms:

Ambiphile - sexually attracted to more than one gender; does not specify gender identity of the desirer

Androphile - sexually attracted to males/male-ness/masculinity; does not specify gender identity of the desirer

Demisexual - sexually attracted to someone you're romantically attracted to

Gynophile - sexually attracted to females/female-ness/femininity; does not specify gender identity of the desirer

Object sexual - sexually attracted to inanimate objects; distinct from paraphilias and fetishes, in that the object isn't treated as an aid to human sexuality

Pansexual - usually defined as sexual attraction to people's personalities rather than their bodies

Zoosexual - sexually attracted to animals

Edit: (apparently not everyone has studied gender theory or knows enough Latin to guess. Whoops -sweatdrop-)

Agender - lacking a gender identity

Ambigender - I've seen "ambiguous gender" used? Someone who's outside of the standard definitions of male and female

Androgyne - between male and female, not neatly fitting into gender roles. Sometimes used as a synonym of ambigender, multigender or agender

Bigender - having two simultaneous gender identities, usually male and female

Genderfluid - regularly experiencing a shifting ("fluid") gender identity (e.g. male some days, female others, agender others, both others...)

Genderqueer - catch-all for gender minorities, but has some cultural connotations. Commonly used by those who don't really fit into a category, or dislike categories

Multigender - experiencing more than two genders simultaneously

Third gender - a gender external to male and female. Some cultures have a third gender unique to them (e.g. Two Spirit)

Definitions taken largely from googling them/ wikipedia

Ha, my orientation isn't on there, I'm special!

Also, how stupid should I feel that I only recognize 2 of those genders? (Guess which ones!)

And lastly, what's the difference between gay, homosexual, and queer? Should I also feel stupid for thinking those were all the same thing?

Don't feel stupid - I didn't explain the genders since I felt they're self-evident (or at least known by people who identify as them), but I guess I should. Since the majority of the population IDs as female or male, they're really jargon

Gay is kinda like lesbian, in that it has political and cultural connotations separate from homosexual (part of why I allowed multiple choice on the orientations). Some people identify as gay but not homosexual or vice versa; gay also tends to be used to describe homosexual men.

Queer is sometimes used as an umbrella term for all gender, sexual, and romantic minorities, but again it also has cultural and political connotations, and some people don't like identifying with it, or choose to identify as queer but not any of the other sexual orientations

If you don't mind me asking, what's your orientation?

Sure, I'll bite.

Male, demi/heterosexual (In my personal case I see demisexual as a clarification and save it for people who know what the heck it means), here for community+ mods you can't get elsewhere.

And yeah, okay, porn, anyone running sexlab can own that much

But basically I spend most of my time here because I like the people who spend most of their time here. :P

To be honest, I didn't understand most of that, but being gay sounds complicated and confusing. As for what I am...eh, well I can't really say here, but I can tell you it IS an orientation, and not just a fetish or general deviousness like most people think.

I was asking myself how much non-straight people were here, but for the majority they are straight. I'd like too see how many people aren't heterosexual ( even if I am hetero, I'm curious). This community is open-minded, that's why I like it. ( at least from what I saw...).

I'm a heterosexual male while inexperienced with sexual society I am very observant, neutral, open minded, and adventurous. I discovered this community by accident but stayed because it's one of the most mature, accepting, comfortable, and giving online communities I have come across on the internet.

Hetero/Demisexual

Came for mods

Stayed for community

Couldn't care less for porn

I guess demisexual is right (??)

I was once told I was that (By an internet test WTF)

Seeing as I find people attractive but I can think or not think about sex, somewhere between being full sex-thinking male and asexual who doesn't give a fuck about it, literally

I miss those days where you could be male, female or homo and that was it XD

Everything was so much simpler from a point of view...

Now you need google to tell you what the hell are you

Female. (Tho my attitude/agressive personality sometimes gets me mistaken for male, other times its easy to tell.)

Bisexual, lean both ways really.

I'm here cause of the community, sexual immersion and realism, and due to the hard to find mods.

Admittedly I'm often an agressive person who riles up others, but thats just..Me, I guess. Unsure. /shrugs.

I'm a ladyperson.

I used to crossdress before my chest grew to the point where it's impossible to fake being a man.

I'm pansexual because I've learned the hard way that people who look great don't always act great and people who don't look great don't always act great either.

I came here while looking for some cool transformation mods.

The Dark Knight and Paladin mod hosted here is what got me to make an account so I could download.

Later on I met a few people and stayed because they turned out to be pretty cool.

Edit: There were two custom races I really liked here including I believe the Elin race by PsychoMachina which really peaked my curiosity as well.

I suppose I need to take a deep, hard, penetrating look at my gender identity. But the truth is I really don't care... it's all good. Male, female... am I male on the outside and female on the inside, or am I female on the outside and male on the inside? Could I wish for both?

I'm only really sexually attracted to the female form... for the most part. The obvious peaks and valleys of that terrain are a lot more alluring than the single monolithic spire of the male countryside. But I usually end up fantasizing about being in a submissive posture to a strong male.

I guess that makes me bisexual? Bicurious? Binocular?

Again, to me it really doesn't matter... all are welcome, all are welcome.
