She looks more like a punk rockstar or a vampire Thanks...probably. IMO the main issue with elves is figuring out how to get rid of the pointy 'Evil Wizard' chin. Once that's done everything else is very workable. Link to comment

Ehh. Sorry. She is not a vanilla dark elf. I do use Enhanced Character Edit. With ECE however the easiest sliders to get the rounded face effect are 'Face Roundness' (duh; but not as much as one would think as at the max it IMO does weird things to the cheeks), 'Age' (negative values) and the Wood/High/Dark Elf Racial sliders (also at negative values). I think he meant that it's not the same as a vanilla dark elf anymore since he's using ECE. The screenshots pretty much say "Dark Elf" at the corner (I don't think there's another dark elf race out there named like that) but he did say he's playing with the Racial Traits sliders to remove the pointy chin meaning he's mixing traits from other races. This is more or less correct. You, if you've got really good vision, can see what I did with the Racial Trait sliders in the third picture. I set a couple of the Elf races to negative values (i.e. "less elf"). I'm just using ECE. No custom races. Link to comment
Ashra XIII
So I'm a bit late to the party, but I just wanted to say that this thread actually inspired me to try and create an elf, because I almost never play them... I tend to favor Bretons (for magey types) or Nords (for warrior types). Anyhow, here's a li'l pic of the one I created... I called her 'Ghost' because of her pale skin and I was not feeling especially creative at the time. I figured I could just change her name later, but so far haven't bothered. She's a Dunmer created with Racemenu, and I realize it isn't much of a show... I just took the pic because I thought she looked cool in that armor, and I was about to exit the game. Mainly just wanted to thank the thread for inspiring me to create this character. Link to comment

I play preferred the Dunmer race (dark elves) because they fit well with the "DLC Dragonborn", them insert very well in the story a. I have only one small problem, I receive their faces are not rounder. http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/574527129704177805/679CA9DAA860692DCEF51C3D85CF429E8B68C075/ http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/3317207128758406088/845B1F9C39C6FA8C2C199BA7D478EFA596D41E59/ http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/3317207128758430736/BD8ADA8FD7D1956DDBC2DAA201257387A9F037EC/ http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/3317207128628110700/530BAD623A3932FF77C9CC367DAFEC1BDEAE0AD6/ Link to comment

Guest
I'm not a lore fascist or anything, but it's the things many folk want to remove that I like most about TES elves. I love the pointy chin, the prominent high cheekbones, the brow ridge, the weird eyes. It's the exotically alien aspect of these people that has hooked me ever since Morrowind. Having said that their treatment in Skyrim takes the whole alien thing way too far. EEO fixes all that for me though, especially used with Custom Races or similar so you can change out head meshes and textures to suit personal taste. There's some fairly obvious cues when it comes to the order of how exotic the mer races ought to appear in my view. Bosmer (pic1 pic2 I think of as most conforming to that Tolkienesque naiad ideal, so I don't use the brow ridge for them generally, I choose bronzed skin tones because it suits their outdoorsy lives, and I soften their features as much as I can because these guys have huge respect for nature, they seem the most keen to integrate and I think that should be reflected. Altmer (pic1 pic2)are the preening peacocks so I aim for statuesque and angular, with aristo chins and a nose like the prow of a ship etc, but they should be easy on the eye, nobody gets to be that self confident of their physical superiority without there being some evidence of it or everyone else would just point and laugh. Dunmer (pic1 pic2) I aim to conform to the alien template the most. I go for full on prominent brow ridge, high cheekbones, large slanted almond shaped blood red eyes and graphite-dark skin. It's the Dunmer that are the biggest challenge to get pleasing on the eye, but that's how it should be, they're really weird people. Not saying my way is the right way, but you can get some very pleasing results without having to throw it all overboard and making what amount to Nords with pointy ears. Link to comment

Those are some nice elves there. I agree, there's really no problem with the original elven look TES had intended. There are actually so many races in-lore that you can get lost in the amount of content should they choose to make them. Sadly, the elves in Skyrim do look a bit lost in translation with aliens taking over the Mer race :lol. For some reason, I don't like the Frosmer/Snow elf races currently out. When I hear snow elves, I kind of picture them to be nymph-like with snow white skin and frosty hair and eye colours. Link to comment

DorkDiva
Well, personally I use the DarkElf, Wood elf and High elf always turn out looking rather strange all the time to me. Here is a snippet of a DarkElf I made the other day. Link to comment
Princessity
I don't think you need a custom race to make a pretty elf ^^ I just use Ethereal Elven Overhaul + latest RaceMenu and I love the presets I've made <3 Exhibit #1, Dunmer, "Iteration #9001": She's supposed to be my main character who I've been meaning to play since like ever but I've been too busy to play Skyrim for more than 5 minutes long mod testing sessions! Her current name is Iteration #9001 because that's how many times something annoyed me about her hair and I had to change it! Exhibit #2, Bosmer, "Princess Jasminelf": I installed Tropical Skyrim so I'd have less grey and white to look at while I'm testing mods and I made this character to fit the sunny climate! Exhibit #3, Altmer, "Neith...thing like her, not even close": This was supposed to be my recreation of Neith from SMITE but is still work in progress because I got distracted by other things and stopped working on it. Exhibit #4, Altmer, "All your preset are base on me": It's one of my first elf presets and when I make new ones I usually just use this one as base instead of creating stuffs from scratch. I tried to make her look close to how Bethesda intended Altmers to look in Skyrim only prettier! Link to comment
