The Elf Race you use the most? (Maybe non-elf but have elven ears)

Using the latest version of Race Menu I got very good results using a Breton as the base then using the Sliders not just for the ears but they have race sliders as well that morphs the face with that races characteristics. So I did Breton adjust the ears some and used the High Elf race morph. Next time I'll start with the High Elf and maybe use Breton or Imperial face morph on it but then I've never liked the High Elf skin color.

Yup! The Dragon Song armor there is CHSBHC, the best version I've been able to find so far. I'm hoping somebody will converted Dragon Song to Bodyslide 2 at some point though! Then I can fit it to my own body type. =)

I use the plain old vanilla races. Ethereal Elven overhaul makes it very easy to make a good looking elf with very little effort.

I do not use it, it makes the face shape too slender and pointed.

I use this mod, so the faces are a little rounder.

You could always just use Racemenu(Maybe ECE has it too?) for the elf ear variation and use any race that you think looks good. Personally, I use Ningheim and the elf ear bit for racemenu.

This is how mine looks in the process:

If you can slap elf ears on an already pretty race, voila. But if you're looking for more... TES related elves, then I have no idea!

very nice, looks really good.

since there is a small problem but for me, I can not all use mods, because most mods are made to the English game. I am German and do not speak English and when I install English mods in my game it would change my game.

for this reason, I use mods that do not influence on my game have, so like this.

Ethereal Elven Overhaul all the way. Keeps the elves lore friendly whilst still making them look way better.

And none of the ridiculous horizontal ears some folk seem to like.

I used to use nume and airy ears until racemenu had the ear option. Which was better for me, as I could wear certain headgear without it being removed. Although I don't see why the language would matter for some mods(Unless you're talking about racemenu, in which... Doesn't it have a translation? )

"Reokudo"
a few examples: in the German version, it says Flußwald or Weißlauf two locations in the game. in the English version called these two locations Riverwood and Whiterun.

If I now use the English mods locations this influence then changing the German names to English. it goes so far that all written texts are in English.

Oh, right. Yeah, I could see how that would be annoying. Walk into someplace, and then it's a name you don't know, but the area you know. "WHAT IS THIS PLACE!?" comes to your mind. xD

Those "ridiculous" ears I like simply because they look "cute, or fit the whole "knife ear" concept more to me. That, and when I first saw them on Deedlit/Pirotess from Record of Loddoss War, I fell in love with those. Started seeing them a lot more often, probably an anime thing, don't know. Different strokes for different folks.

I can only back Aiko's words. For a year I have been using ECE and since I got pretty used to it I don't think of changing it in the future. I play vanilla Nord race with Pretty Girl textures and sideways elf ears from ECE. The effects make me fully satisfied as they give me a lot of space for my own improvements when it comes to the face. I don't have to stick to no particular race.

Personally, I think there can be a good balance between the lopped ears and the traditional knife ears (lol @ DA:O slang). Since the laws of physics don't apply all that well to Skyrim hair, elf ears have to be sort of angled outward a bit in order to see them behind long hair. Unfortunately, hair can't be parted or tucked to show off those cute ears.

On topic: For the longest time, I used the Lunari race because the ears were just right in terms of length and shape. While the race stats/abilities are mediocre at best, it was style over substance in this case. Lately though I've been using good old fashioned vanilla Bosmer. With the help of EEO and a bit of tweaking of the morphs, the resulting look has been pleasant yet still within lore-friendly grounds. Also, there's an added bonus of not having to deal with the wonky custom race scripts that handle vampirism and lycanthropy.

Here's an example of the modified Bosmer look:

Hah! You got the DA:O reference I put there. :D

It never really bothered me when the hair clipped through the ears, especially since the hair I use now has HDT and I can't even jump/run without the damned thing flying everywhere or stretching to oblivion(Which is kind of funny sometimes). Little things like that, eh lol.

In as far as I know, the shape of elven ears tend to be one way to show an elf's personality. Lore-wise you can pretty much imagine an Altmer boy insulting a little Altmer girl just because she has droopy ears which IMO is a sign of innocence or childish curiosity among elves. It might not be quite visible to a real human (in real life) and it certainly wasn't animated in the game, but ears do move or show a person's emotions due to the way facial muscles react. Proud elves would certainly boast their knife-ears as they point up and could be seen as a sign of status. Being cute or not is just a part of that added bonus.

On another note, Deedlit is the curious type so it's no wonder her ears look like that :D

Regardless, I agree with the part about elves having too pointy faces being an issue that conflicts with my choice. The Elder Scrolls Online kind of fixed that with the way they depicted elves as they don't really have the same human constitution as other Men being that they are Mer. From what I can tell Bethesda envisioned elves to have slender shapes and thus have slim or gaunt faces. Limitations of the 3d modeller's capability led to the grey-alien looking elves we have now, only with yellow or brown skin. Just imagine how a 400 year-old Altmer would look with all that facial lines already in the face and that pointy chin and temples being that they start out "young".

I liked how they did the elves in TESO for the most part. I attempted to make my character resemble the elves in my series. 'Course, whenever Racemenu gets the face sculpt working, I probably won't fix up the parts of her face that I don't like.

I like it just a bit. Since it was the same hair I used before. The only thing I don't like is when it stretches or looks too wavy.

Hello, I'm canvassing for a potential elven race to use in a new game. I was wondering what race most users prefer in making elf characters.

Here's what I'm after: An elf race with human facial features but aren't just Nords or other non-Mer races with artificial pointy ears put via ECE. The merfolk within the game are nice and all, but in all honesty they look like stereotypical witches with long chins and grey alien uptilt eyes because of the head shape.

"Beautiful Elf" would be a good short description of what I'm looking for.  :D

Please post your recommendations and an image to support it. Do avoid a wall of pictures. One or two would suffice  ;)

I feel like with ECE you can start with pretty much any base game elf race and via chin, face roundness and race trait sliders end up with a result that's, depending on your preferences, going to end up somewhere between cute and beautiful.  I'll try to post up some pictures later of what I'm talking about (keeping in mind that my computer is a POS and that I am not running anything to enhance textures).  I will also say that I personally usually go with dark elves because whether I'm playing seriously or not I prefer to be fire resistant.  Lastly, I also tend to minimize the ear size (while keeping the shape) but that's mostly because clipping drives me nuts.

Trying the elf ears on ECE gave me some creepy moments :lol I couldn't make a decent young-looking elf with childish ears. Well, that's more of my skill than ECE's fault anyway. The stretchy ears suck though. Anyone have an ECE preset for a cute-looking petite young girl? All my characters tend to look like mature women. Am using UNP Creamy btw. Oh, and I'm not talking about a child, just something young like three or five years older than this http://skyrimghost.blog.fc2.com/blog-entry-352.html
