SexLab mods corrupting save files

Hiya so I finally decided to use sexlabs as I wanted a more "immersive" experience in my gameplay. so I installed it following all the instruction and started playing. I loved it!! it is definetly much better than i had anticipated so i played for an hour or so saving every 5-10 mins or so. Anyways I exited the game and went and did other things , So I come back and try to load up my save and...CTD!!! every save that I j=had made with Sexlabs installed resulted in an instant CTD, So I though maybe a simple mod conflict or something so I used BOSS to fix the load order and went back to each download page to make sure i was folllowing instructions. I started a brand new game to avoid any future issues  saved and exited and then tried to load the save again....CTD. I then assumed that one of the mods downloaded were corrupted so i started activating and deactivating sexlab mods ,  saving and reloaded savegames to see when was the savegame not corrupted. the only time that it was not corrupted was when I only had Sexlabs 1,15b loaded on its own but of course I cant have sex with just that as far as I know, anyways when one or more sexlab plugins are loaded the save game becomes corrupted. Guys any help would be nice as I really want to play with these mods.

2. I see that you use Racemenu. In my experience (which may be flawed) ever since I started using Racemenu, I get a CTD when I start a saved game/ continue a game. Then when I look in Mod Organizer's overwrite thingy, I see there are meshes to be gotten rid off. (I made a special "mod" in MO to put those meshes in). Then when I load/ continue a game, it loads properly and no issues.

Well that is true that I dont really need animated prostitution when i have sexlab running of course thats if i can get it to work lol. Also removed multi marriage, I actually forgot i had that lol. I agree its quite an extensive load order but suprisingly i havent had any substantial issues with it, of course purging mods is the hardest thing to do lol.

 

 

 

 

Its pretty frustrating that I cant run any sexlab mods without corrupting my saves, If i only have the sexlab.esm its fine but the moment I add any mod that requires sexlab.esm my saves get corrupted, I honestly cannot figure this out , its really frustrating.

A CTD when loading a save does not mean the save is corrupted. You'll know when a save is corrupted because it will flat out tell you "This save is corrupted"

 

Crashing when loading a save usually means a badly installed or uninstalled mod causing some compatibility/dependency problem OR it means absolutely nothing at all and simply retrying to load the save without changing anything all and it will work fine.

 

Either way the thing to do would be to post a debug log to know more, which the 3 pinned threads practically yelling at you/everyone to do so when posting says repeatedly.

You can always try to create a new fresh save in a area like Alternate start. Then from that save load your old saves.

Sometimes its just to much for skyrim to load, causing it to crash.

So giving Skyrim a chance to load everything on a fresh save takes some load off skyrim.

That usally works for me.

This! I always keep at least one "Abandoned Prison" save with Alternate start. I always load that one first, when entering a game. After that, I load the last save. Heavy Script load seems to make Skyrim crash on loading first.

loading save game and it crashes, is actually skyrim itself crapping out. Does not mean the save game is corrupt it was you would not even be able to load that game anymore it would flat out tell you your save s corrupt.

 

load and crash usually is result when too many mods is loaded at the same time especially scripted once, and papyrus is not able to keep up anymore. To many texture would only result infinite loading screen. just keep a clean save game handy preferably inside a building and keep it handy every time you need to load skyrim load that one first and then the latest save game that would normally crash and the game would load normally again.

 

This game was actually never really optimized to work with so many mods at once. Blame Bethesda. for this.

Safetyload,SSME,EnBoost and whatever miraculous .ini changes I find online and still my recent saves crash at loading.

 

Only solution is what shadow866 said,always keep your first savegame.

 

Funny thing is I don't recall having this problem until some months ago,and I never have more than 50 mods at the same time.Well,something to live with I guess...

I've long suspected that crash-on-load is a symptom of multiple scripts all firing at the same time (cell scanning, cloak spells, etc) while the game is still in the process of loading assets.

 

Evidence in favour of this is that save load CTDs seem to be much less common when loading into a small cell and much more common when loading into the open world. And reloading from quick saves seems unaffected since the assets are already loaded at that stage. Also it's something not seen as often in the vanilla game (or a game that is less script-heavy).

 

It should be noted that the number of mods it not so important here as what those mods are doing while the game is trying to load.

 

Just a hypothesis, not thoroughly tested.

 

As mentioned above, loading an earlier save first can allow the game to do some caching and leave more room for scripts to do their work. If an earlier save file is not an option, using coc whiterun in the console from the main menu will have the same effect. A troublesome save can then be loaded from the escape menu as soon as it's available. In fact I've found this methof to be more reliable than using existing saves.

i manually installed mods and organized them myself as well for months including sexlab mods, heavily scripted with heavy dependencies

would still be ding that today if my ssd didn't burn out and lose everything forcing me to redo that entire list from scratch

number of mods isn't affecting your issue so much as the enb

 

the save - load issue could be summarized as too much to load at once in a 32-bit game engine, basically its a memory issue

loading another game first is less strenuous, because its not the total memory usage thats an issue, but the amount to be allocated at a given time and enb will affect this as much as script burden: for everything loaded into video, an equal amount must also load into memory

Something I am seeing a lot is that if I try to load my most recent save, i get a CTD. If I load an old save, it's fine. If I load the old save, then load the latest save without exiting the game, it's ALSO fine. I can then save my new progress and it's a crap shoot whether I can run that save or have to do the little dance again.

It seems removing a lot of my script heavy mods like frostfall and wet and cold and starting a fresh game allowed my saves to load. I guess it was an issue of too many scripts trying to run and by throwing sexlabs into the mix Skyrim just crapped out on me, thanks for the support eveyone
