Alluvian Race (Slime Race)
UPDATE: 7/16/16:
I haven't given up on this but real life took over. =(  If anyone knows how to make the slime texture look better, I'd love to talk to you. It has some seams and my gimp skills are lacking.  
 
UPDATE: 3/11/15: I am finally getting back on track. I am making a proper worldspace for the race and pretty much starting from scratch.
I would like for this to have a standalone race but I am not very good with that. If anyone would like to create that, please PM me.

This is a WIP. I am learning as I go. Currently this is a replacer and will require the Temptress Race by Psychos1s
The retexture will give you just the race. The "Blackreach Alluvan Home" file will make Blackreach safe. No enemies, no falmer stink. All falmer structures and chaurus are gone. I have added a player home in the Silent City and lights on some of the paths.

Updated Blackreach. This file has Blackreach cleared, Communal pool added/linked, Explorer's Home(in Silent City), and trading commons(across from Silent City, look for the portal. The commons is an empty cell with a platform for now.  alluvian blackreach.7z

 

 

 
 
This race replaces the texture of the Temptress race with Textures from Apocrypha.
The end goal is to have a standalone race with followers, npcs, racial armor, books, and locations.
If someone would like to make the race standalone, you have my blessing.
 
What I have done right now:
- Alluvian Race - race name and description on character select, skin texture (needs refining), alt blood splatter (needs refining)
locations mapped out (current blood splatter uses water splash effect)
- Blackreach has been cleared out (using CK) and is now safe.
 
Things to get done:
-Replaced the blood splash (when the player gets hit) with a water splash. [DONE]
- I want the splash to be a greenish color and smaller.
- I want to remove the red blood effect from the screen when the player gets hit.
-Need to remove the neck seam, adjust foot texture to match legs, and blend the textures on the back and under arms to remove seams.
-I need racial armor 
-light armor, with Blackreach luminous moss
-want to set up TBBP and HDT for more goopiness and bounce
- Need books about the race. [Making them now]
- Need to eventually make this standalone and not dependent on another race (currently dependent on Temptress)
Blackreach Goals
- Need to remove all falmer and dwemer from Blackreach   DONE
-If that is not doable, then the NPC’s will have to kill them for me   Not needed
-I want Blackreach to be safe   DONE
- All friendly cavern NPC’s essential (just in case)

Blackreach is their home.
Alluvians have lived in a cavern that connects to Blackreach.
Most live in the pools (liquid state) but some venture out into the world
 
The Communal Pool
They originated from a small lake underground.
-The Great Mother – founder of their race (long story)
-human female, somewhere near the pool
- Blank eyes, blank expression, no dialoge, wanders around pool, comfy clothes

This is a start for the new direction of this. The race is not included with this version. Many edits still needed.
 
EDIT: 2/14/14 I added an esp with Blackreach cleaned out. It is in the files spoiler. Took me a few hours in the CK to clean it out.

EDIT: 2/15/14 Added "alluvan blackreach.7z" to the bottom of files list. Add the esp to see the changes.
I will be learning how to do most of this as I go. Any help would be appreciated. Please contact me if this interests you. I have no clue how do do half of this, so will be fun.

I learned how to create worldspaces and will be changing some of the cells into their own worldspaces instead. 
I'm looking for someone to make the race standalone.

Remade the cavern and entrance. The Alluvian cavern is now a proper world space.

I'm right now fiddling with making stuff look really wet, I'll share my shader/text stuff once it's done. :D

With a little transparency in the diffuse it could look really slimy.

That would be really cool. Thank you. Wetness would add so much to their bodies  :)

Nice! Do you plan on giving their bodies some transparency? It would look really cool, even though that would probably mess the face... Maybe getting opaque from the neck upwards?

Refining the texture will come but I'll be grateful to anyone that wants to help. The problem with transparency is the armor. The underside would look black or gray. a faux transparency might work though

With Blackreach cleared I am now looking at adding some dwellings to the area. This race is strong in conjuration so I'm going with homes that are small on the outside and large on the inside. I'll have books explaining it so that it makes sense. I'm also going to set the patrol paths for 10 (maybe 5 guards).

 

Now, Blackreach in my current vision. Check the map posted above for reference.

 

1) Cave entrance (Communal Pool / small new area / probably will be a loading screen)

2) The Silent City (area below VULTHURYOL’S GONG) will have some market stalls, blacksmith, alchemy stall, cook, some small homes (small shelters with cots).

4) not sure yet

5) A couple small houses build into the rock. Go down a set of stairs and into a large studio style room. Also want a couple shelters and cots by the water.

I updated the files. Mainly I took the "blackreach alluvan" file and put it by itself. It is a loose esp in the zip folder for now. You will find Blackreach to be a happier place now. More lit paths, no falmer stink, and a cozy player home in the Silent City.

Following with baited breath. 

 

Would be amazing if you could do things with transparency and refraction like this mod. Also...instead of extensively modifying Blackreach, since I have a few mods there I think it might be cooler if you added some kind of time machine/portal in Blackreach to take the players to 'another Blackreach" where the Alluvians have had the chance to thrive. For compatibility reasons.

I will probably end up doing something like that. However, for now, the Blackreach changes should,'t affect too much. The 3 places I added are out of the way. I just really really hate Falmer. I had such a thrill wiping them out of existance  :D

oh wow, i looked at the screenshots...that's actually VERY interesting and promising, i like it

 

there are many possibilities with a "slime" race, though i imagine the general limitations of skyrim would prevent anything really inventive. Would be really cool to have like an engulf attack or a swallow and just eat the enemy and see them floating around in the PC lol

I'm wanting to eventually add tentacle legs to this race, either as a armor or a special leg mesh. I would love for someone to make the armor for it but I will probably end up doing it myself.

Just a thought for you to toss around in your head :)

 

Maybe try adding HDT physics to simulate 'goopiness' in some parts of body?

 

I mean you could if you really wanted to, make the move 'goopily' but that would require some custom animation and maybe slightly altered meshes. Neither of which I could guide/help with :/

I'll have to look into that. A lot of extra wobble would be cool

 

EDIT: If anyone would like to attach HDT to this body, please let me know. This will be slow going otherwise as I'm not really sure what to do.

I've spent some time fiddling with specular stuff now...

 

I guess making the specular map (femalebody_s.dds in this case) to look "drippy" (like that sporty sexy sweat one, but less ... sweaty) and setting the glossiness to a very high value (like 2500) with a specular strength of 7 or more (becomes tinfoil-y fast, gotta try there) would make them look quite slimy.

Then make the diffuse (femalebody.dds) slightly transparent by adding a alpha channel to it and they should look like intended. :D

I'll be following it. By the way can't some effect be reproduced with a shader? The drippy stuff may be one?

I'd also see some acid related power (reduce enemy armor, acid bolt, melt simple locks etc...)

 

Edit: As long as a body is bbp/tbbp, it can use Hdt, after that, I'm not sure about how to add a specific xml to a particular body :s

By default there are extra wobbly xml (in the all in one hdt for instance)

sorry asking, but can do a standalone race? i just dnt wanna download a race to use another race.

To be honest, I'm not sure how to get things linking properly. I've been having similar issues with an area I'm working on. I'm becoming a regular in the Technical Help forum  :)

 

It's on the list though.

Hi all, I messed up my skyrim install again (not the fault of the mod here :P). I admit I don't really have the motivation to repair it for now.
Anyway the reason I'm telling this is that I was trying to work on textures on my side side.

I used gimp with the dds plugin and the normal map plugin, a plugin to rescale the pattern and an utility called xnormal to convert the normal map to object space map (msn).
I came up with a femalebody_1.dds and femalebody_1_msn.dds
The catch is that I couldn't test it... It could really be horribly wrong. Since I won't be working on it until I finally get my install working, I give you my work:
The xcf file is the gimp file itself with most of the layer still intact
the jpeg is the slime texture I used as a pattern
And the texture results of my work.
Hope it will help...

 

Remember it's just the body, no hands no head. The download is big because of the gimp file sorry about that.

I took a look at the communal pool area, and I have some suggestions to its development. I noticed that there is a very deep pool of water in there atm for the pool. My thought was you don't really need to have it that deep, or even need the water at all honestly.  (brainstorming) Take all the "crystal" structures and move them all to the ceiling so that they protrude down from it at differing lengths, maybe cut the crystals girth/width by....half. As I mentioned before the water isn't really necessary you could make the "bowl" of the pool like a pond (shallow on the edges and gets deeper as you head toward the middle chest/nipple deep at its deepest point) and extend its width to nearly the whole floor of the cavern its in with the exception of the stairs maybe an alter or statue of the Alluvian's deity (Dibella was it?) and the area leading to the passage to blackreach . Then take that glowing goo that's on the ground around the "slime pots" in blackreach and place it all the way across the pool at the height where the surface of the water would be (if you want some splashy can put actual water beneath the slimes surface) lastly you may or may not want some sort of large rotating jagged looking or diamond shaped crystal (or maybe even a retextured eye of magnus) floating in the air high above the pool's center to give the indication it is the source of the pool's ability to create life.

 

Damn I got quite carried away there lol, That is the vision that appears in my mind anyway maybe it will help? :)

I like that texture ,even applied it to the body....however I haven't the faintest idea how to put it on the hand feet and face (I barely put it on the body :P )
