Since upgrading to 1.1.29, I get spammed with these messages outta nowhere:

I'll put out a new patch tomorrow night to fix that. If anyone else runs into any problems, post them before then and I will include fixes for those tomorrow night as well if possible.

 

-edit- posting v1.1.30 which fixes just this problem, hopefully. I can't recreate it.

Well that sucks... My script is using GetHighActors to get a list of active actors, and gets the playerRef too. Perhaps the loacation you are in has a bad actor ref in the high actors processing?

 

My fix included a change to make sure the actor being processed is a valid actor. I will create a special debug version for you that will display a lot more info, and you could send me another screenshot with the extra info.

 

If you are handy with CS, you could add some more info to the debugString in XLDSHandleActiveActors to see what line it fails on.

Initially I was only getting the issue on a dungeon I had already cleared, Belletor's Folly. I eventually started having it everywhere and it's not like I can ignore it because it gets literally spammed on my screen.

I'm not handy with the CS unfortunately, because it won't even let me start it. That's apples and oranges, though.

Also, am I supposed to include xldsFuro.esp in my Bashed Patch?

Thanks for the info. I'll try to get you a debug patch tomorrow night.

 

XldsFuro doesn't need to be in the bashed patch, but may need to be loaded after it if furotrap is in it. I'm no expert with how the bashed patch works though. I run with xlds and xldsFuro at the very end of my load order.

Considering I've waited six or seven versions before upgrading, the problem probably is indeed in my save. I don't have that much of an issue starting a new save... even though this is probably my 20th save due to breaking mods when upgrading them.

In any case, I shall wait for the debug patch. Thank you for the amazing mod. No need to hurry it. I'll do some fooling around in this current save, perhaps further investigate when the error message actually happens, investigate the console, etc. Perhaps even start a new save just to test it around. Will report back if I find anything new.

The only thing odd is that previously I was only getting this issue on the dungeon aforementioned. It's not like I played around that much to test it too much but as far as I know it's happening randomly. I fast-travelled to Anvil and the message started appearing.
 

EDIT: I've got a few updates. It seems that disabling seeding has made the error messages stop appearing. At least now I can play.

Thank you! It SEEMS to have fixed the problem. I actually started a new save before updating to the newest version and turned on seeding, and everything was ok then. I thought my oldest save (the one in which this problem started in the first place) was botched but loaded it and turned on seeding just to be sure. I seem to not be getting any more error messages so far.

I like the enhanced messages alot, have you made that it's own mod yet? Jw.

Edit: I think I found out what was causing that. If you use Dynamic Leveled Lists, make sure to omit xlds.

They seem to come up once I press the "N" button. They even come up with seeding disabled. Is the "N" button keyed for something in this mOD?
 
Edit....again: Ultimately NVM. An ini setting I changed didn't go all the way through, had to start a new game. Good thing I was still very early and testing things to see if they worked right. lol.

Hey fienyx, glad you were able to sort out that problem. As for the Enhanced Messaging, while I planned on breaking it out to it's own mod, I don't know when I will get to it. I am not actively working on the mod at this time, but I'm sure I will get back to it later on.

@Varnol: When mod's author will reply to you, first thing which will be asked is Pluggy (and menuque) version you use; also it will be helpful to mention your OBSE version (author uses 21, but seems it's not strict condition).
Wouldn't hurt info about other obse-plugins (dll in obse\plugins) versions installed. Conscribe logs applied (from game session crashed) may be informative too.

Personaly i played xlds quite while, and my game crashed time to time - not significantly frequent than in common (oblivion itself is not very stable, after all), but it was never followed by error message you mentioned. Now long time i do not use xlds, because of some suspictions about menuque role in whole game stability (had no energy\time to research myself or bother the Author without certain cause).

Mi game usually crashes within few seconds after I load with XLDS enabled. Runs fine again if I disable it.

The mod seems to be pretty stabble for other players so there must be something in my setup that is not quite right

Looks like the error has something to do with LoversHiyokoShooter, which I do not use, but I found it and installed just in case.

Well, with my small (and "outdated", cause i quit xlds @v1.24) knowledge, i can't see anything wrong.
Two suggestions then:
1) turn xlds' debug feature ON in ini-file (set XLDSMainQuest.debugMode to 1 (or greater number? possible, in new versions there're variants of debug levels)); also, bring a copy of your load-order (plugins.txt or some kind of OBMM' mod's list) - possibly, strange mod's conflict will be found?
2) try to test with 100% "clear" (saved with none of xlds versions) game -- take a log;
;) summon Scotelic..

INI-file (xlds.ini) ,afair, should be placed to \data\ini\ (as most modern mods do), and contains such parameter settings as:

Also, settings change is possible via setting spell -- it could be easier though (i almost forgot about spell, to be honest).

From now i'll be offline till monday; may be you could send PM to Scotelic (PM settings allows to target's attention via real e-mail, helpful if your correspondent not visit LL long time).

Sorry that you are having problems with the mod. I will try to help you out, but can't promise to spend too much time on it. Set ShowDebugMessagesInConsole to 1 instead of 0 in the xlds.ini file, and capture the conscribe logs again and post them here. I will keep an eye out for them and see if I can figure out what the problem is. I'm not sure what might cause that error though. If anyone has any idea, please let me know.

 

I hope we can get this sorted out.  ;)
