Thanks a lot to you and maddadicusrex. I installed Applejam skeleton and the "infinity butt" issue is gone and the occasional CTD after sex is gone too. Hopefully the fix for SCR will mean it will work with Compatibility Skeleton

It's not really a fix, i just returned version of a body that doesn't use extra bones, so it should be fine with Compatible Skeleton, but bnb stuff won't work with it

Hi.

 

I'm fairly new to this, so I hope someone can explain it to me in simple, plain English.

 

I have tried SO on FNV and TTW with similar, fairly large mod loadouts (255 esps), extensively. In both cases, I am experiencing the same recurring bug:

 

  • NPCs are stuck in place after an animation almost randomly, but very often.
    • All animations play without any issues (with slight misalignment of actors).
    • I mainly use Sexout SexAssault to initiate animations between 2 or 3 NPCs, but I encounter the same bug using Unethical Deeds (non-extended and extended version).
    • After an NPC assaulted my companion, either/or both NPCs (if human) stand up and play ragdoll animations. This is when the bug kicks in.
      • Sometimes ragdoll animations don't play, they simply stand up like robots.
        • After that, they just stand still (hostile NPCs stop attacking, just standing still and commenting). Companions stop following, but react from getting hit. They just don't do anything else but staring in one direction.
      • Creatures are unaffected.
        • This makes me believe it has something to do with human actor skeletons or scripts. I tend to the latter.
    • I can fix this by going to command console, selecting the actor, and typing resurrect 1, but this is tedious because it happens every time afterward, so I just load a previous save until it happens again (usually right away).
      • I don't consider this an acceptable solution in the long run. It kills all elements of fun for me.
    • I have uninstalled all SO content for now, as it is getting me frustrated to a point I don't even feel like playing NV/TTW anymore (traumatized by the frustration, lol).
    • I know I installed SO, SR and all contents correctly as I followed dborg2's guide and everything else works, except for actors getting stuck after animation (right after what should be the ragdoll effect in order to reset them – this is ironic as they are getting stuck probably because of a failed ragdoll effect?).
    • Below is my TTW loadorder and modlist without SO content (Warning: This is a large loadout, as I intend to release this modlist as a full-blown modding guide. I'm a guide writer.):

I have tried SO on FNV and TTW with similar, fairly large mod loadouts (255 esps), extensively. In both cases, I am experiencing the same recurring bug:

      • Creatures are unaffected.
        • This makes me believe it has something to do with human actor skeletons or scripts. I tend to the latter.
    • I can fix this by going to command console, selecting the actor, and typing resurrect 1, but this is tedious because it happens every time afterward, so I just load a previous save until it happens again (usually right away).
      • I don't consider this an acceptable solution in the long run. It kills all elements of fun for me.
    • I have uninstalled all SO content for now, as it is getting me frustrated to a point I don't even feel like playing NV/TTW anymore (traumatized by the frustration, lol).
    • I know I installed SO, SR and all contents correctly as I followed dborg2's guide and everything else works, except for actors getting stuck after animation (right after what should be the ragdoll effect in order to reset them – this is ironic as they are getting stuck probably because of a failed ragdoll effect?).
    • Below is my TTW loadorder and modlist without SO content (Warning: This is a large loadout, as I intend to release this modlist as a full-blown modding guide. I'm a guide writer.):

do you have the Mod-limit fix?  Without it the max in Fallout 3/NV is 139, not 254. (and I wouldn't go for the 254, unless small mods, because the different internal engines were never build to manage too many mods or complex mods)

 

-Misallignment: what you believe is 1 animation is in reality 2 or more animations(1 per actor) that people tried to allign perfectly. any elivation will misallign the 2 animations

-the resurrect 1 will fix the animation not ending, but after it ends, it also needs to delete tokens. Resurrect 1 bypasses it, so you remain with 2 actors with stuck tokens, that are unable to initiate anymore sex. This is the STUCK TOKEN problem, and the only fix is, to go back to a save prior to the start of the last successful sex animation

The cause is

REASON: People will add their own mods at the back of it, but if they are able to install the mods, they should be able to recognize the need to keep output and late-loaders at the back.

IIRC: -LOD Resources_separator and all in it. Enable when building LODS and disable when playing game?

Yes, I used Viva New Vegas as base for my FNV loadout and The Best of Times for my TTW loadout. They both have FNV Modlimit Fix as essential mod.

In my TTW loadout, some mods and their patches require the plugin to be enabled. I haven't encountered an issue with it yet, but I will consider going through my plugins and see if I can disable some during the early content.

The animations do end, as the ragdoll effect after proves. The actors also can initiate another instance of animations after "resurrect 1" was applied to them, as if they are back on the enabled actors list. They just stand still after all that. The companions even teleport with me to another cell (fast travel, entering/exiting a cell). The companion will just spawn submerged (under the floor). I can fix that companion with "resurrect 1" in that case.

 

Yes, the actors have a token in their inventory. I checked it with the "inv" command. I tried removing the token with "removeitem + item ID". It works initially. The token, however, reappears in their inventory moments later without any SO event.

 

Again, after "resurrect 1" everything seems back to normal. Only after another animation does the actor the "stand still, stare in one direction" thing. The companion also doesn't take damage. The hostile enemy, however, dies when fatally wounded.

 

The problem is, really, that the companion stops following, or doing anything at all. I feel like the companion script completely breaks, and no other script will run on that actor, unless "resurrected".

I got the revised version. Thoroughly cleaned with FNVEdit. I have yet to enter Vault 22 in my TTW loadout though.

I tried that. Disabling some plugins caused LOD models to go missing. This is one of my next sub-projects, to revise the LOD generation. I can probably just ditch some of the LOD additions.

See, MO2 has proven itself unreliable with its implementation of archive (in)validation. In many "new game" instances, I had to reboot the game, or reactivate archiveinvalidation invalidated, i.e Robert's Male Body keeps getting the texture glitch each time I start a new game. I have removed Robert's for now. This instance makes the mod redundant.

My main issue is NPCs are getting stuck in place after an animation. It doesn't break the game (resurrect 1 is a workaround), but it breaks immersion and kills the fun for me.

@realryco, I'd say you to merge/disable mods in order to decrease the load order, as even with mod limit fix it's still too much for the engine. Sexout is script heavy mod that breaks on memory leaks or when it can't read code in time while executing code from other mods. 
NV Compatibility Skeleton is also a bit of a problem for Sexout as it alternates vanilla ragdoll physics that might cause npc being stuck after animation, as old reset animation was made ages ago and doesn't really works with alternated ragdoll physics. I saw there's version of CS with vanilla ragdolls, so i'd say to try that as well maybe it'll fix it

Hi Neutron!

 

I've already tried the Vanilla Weights version. It's the one I'm currently using, because this was suggested by The Best of Times authors. It does not fix the issue. The stuck NPCs/Companions are present even without NVCS with SO skeletons overwriting every other skeleton.

NPs with the SO mod but a question about FNV relevant to it:

How do I make my female vamp, raping her way across the wasteland, assume the male role totally now that she has an accessible futa mod?

I am aware of FNV's ironclad reluctance WRT sex change but surely there has to be a way?

Hi guys,

 

 

I think I found out what was causing the stuck NPCs / Companions. I removed Sexout Common Resources and all its dependencies and have yet to encounter the stuck NPCs again. I have tested it for a couple of human<>human animations. I will keep testing and let you know.

So, yes, seems like game just can't process it with so many script heavy mods at one time, and/or it might be that SCR was not properly installed

I'm having trouble where, after sexual activity, putting on clothes will make those clothes disappear from my inventory and my body.  It happens with all body clothes but not with headwear.  Below is my Sexout mod list.  Can anyone see what is causing this?

  • I know I installed SO, SR and all contents correctly as I followed dborg2's guide and everything else works, except for actors getting stuck after animation (right after what should be the ragdoll effect in order to reset them – this is ironic as they are getting stuck probably because of a failed ragdoll effect?).
  • The stuck NPCs after animations also occur even with just SO/SCR content enabled.
    • Not me, but someone else reported the same issue in 2015. The issue was already identified as a known FO problem. Source: 
  • I have been running a fully modded FNV/TTW for 7 months with just a minor script issue caused by Improved AI Navmesh mod with NPC's pathfinding and solved it with FNVEdit.
    • The occasional NPCs sinking through the floor is also a known issue, I have yet to find a solution for.
  • I know you are one of the devs for SCR. I didn't mean to insult SCR or your work.
    • SCR installation was never an issue, even after users experiencing issues with SCR since July 1 update.

 

TL:DR: Issue was fixed by removing SCR from my loadout. No more NPCs getting static/stuck after an animation in my FNV and TTW loadouts (with 255 enabled esps, some of which involve heavy scripting, such as FPGE and a bunch of AI enhancing mods and NPC additions like Mojave NPCs and NPCs Travel).

If playing w/o SCR works fine for you then good, as most sexout mods requires to have SCR. As for the issue, again, I don't know what can be the cause of it, I have read that old post and there's only clues on stuck sexout tokens, that happens all the time after playing for some time w/o restarting the game. If removing SCR allowed you to play for way longer time, then it might give me some ideas of what is wrong in SCR, but as i know stuck token bug was existing for ages now

Yeah, for what I want to do, I don't need SCR. It's nice to have SO SexAssault, but Unethical Deeds EE does almost the same, and more. Being unable to use Fade to Black is a bummer, though, but it's a fair trade for not having to "resurrect 1" all my stuck companions after every other animation.

 

Since I have removed SCR, I have not experienced stuck NPCs for hours. We'll see when I get into more script heavy content in the Capital Wasteland, but so far, no stuck NPCs, hostile or not, after 20+ hours playtime with my current TTW + SO loadout (255 esps).
