And just because you say

 

I know i've spend 60 mins trawling the forums for an answer because thats what i always do when i run into things.

doesn't mean that WE know that.  We aren't fucking psychics.

 

So what you were apparently trying (and failing) to say is that you are having the same problem that others have had AND that the fix that appears to work for a lot of people is not working for you.  So maybe provide more (and complete) info: load order, papyrus logs, etc.  Maybe those that are having this issue (initial problem and standard fix not working) can see some correlation among the logs and loads.

Try reading more than just the last few posts.  This has been discussed here and in other threads.  There is a option in the ZAZ MCM under the SexLab header called something like "enable animation swapping" or something similar.  Uncheck that, then try again.  This has solved the problem for most people.

 

I red all suggestions here, in this thread and others, but no help in my game. Tried it on two new games and two present saves but no help. So I reverted to 6.0 version vith following patch and all runs great. This is not complain against Xaz and/or Zaz, just observation that latest ZAP release has issues. I didn't have problems with ZAP in 99% but the latest release is buggy. I'm sure that they will work this out when would have a time. And of course, their hard work is highly appreciated. :)

I have yet to see this issue with several different characters/setups.  I disabled the option just like others have, and I have not seen this issue appear.  Which to me indicates is a conflict with a specific mod (one that I am not using), or I have the left pane order in MO set up in a way that hides the problem.  I am about to start a new character with some additional mods that I normally don't use, so I'll see if this issue finally does appear for me.  Interesting question - those that are having this issue:  are you using the 1.60 alpha of sexlab?  Or the current 1.59c?  I am using 1.59c and I am not seeing this problem.

I also have the same issue with the animations as mentioned above. I'm using SL 1.59c and when I went back to 6.00 with patch 6.04 everything works OK. I've tried to disable the animation swapping and it didn't help.

Hello @xaz and @ZaZ. I am reporting a small problem on the latest version (6.06):

 

 

In some cases the animation selected by SexLab or by the mod (in case of a specific one) is then replaced AFTER IT STARTS by another Zaz animation.

I confirm I am not using ANY key to change the animations or similar. The list of mods used for this example is only Sexlab 1.59c, Zaz Anim Pack 6.06, a skeleton, a body, FNIS, and the mod I am working on (Cum Shot Brothel.)
 
I had this problem many times after the installation of Zaz 6.06, and here I am running on a brand new clean save.
This error never happen with the previous versions (Used a lot the version 6.04.)
 
Thank you for any lights about this.
Is it intentional? If it is intentional, can it be stopped by some API call? Because of this "animation switch" the scenes I made are not more working.
A second info: this does not happen always, it happen in about 50% of cases.

So, I just installed v6.06 and after several uninstalls/reinstalls I can't seem to get the gag sounds to work.  Everything else works perfectly, but when I equip a gag the actor doesn't make any sounds and can talk to npcs normally.  I'm relatively new to modding so I'm not sure if it's just a blunder on my end (Considering I'm the only one having this problem, that's probably not too far off).  Anyone have any advice as far as helping me troubleshoot?

 

Edit:  I tried another reinstall and, nothing.  I'm honestly not sure what to do here.

Actuallythe problem is present even in 604 with stable sexlab.

It simply happens only sometimes if i remember correctly only in aggressive animations while normal plays correctly.

 

I think the problem happened with 600 release but few people reported it since there were many changes.

NEW problem and quite big also.

 

All my gamesaves seems suddenly broken.

 

i get CTD every armbinder animation ...even on the saves that used to work correctly Q_Q

 

attached papyrus since its reproducible...

 

 

P.S: i had to reload 3 time to reproduce it since sometimes it use a non zaz animation despite the armbinder.

Also for first load i use old saves in small cells due to the renown bug so initial papyrus errors are not to be considered

 

 

rolled back to 604_2 and everything works :( on old saves

 

P.S. also extreme suspicious thing:

 

I kept a save just before 606 update with no other mod changed between.

 

In each of the zaz 606 saves without changing anything else, cleaning game results in 0 # (orphaned i guess)  but 112 scripts instances fixed.

The save just before update with 604 has 0 of both

 fixing instances didn t solve anything

Try disabling either DDi or ZAP animation override. Running both at the same time is probably not a good idea. They use mostly the same code internally anyway, so try either and see if it works.

 

GagSFX has been effectively replaced by ZAP (ZAP does the same thing). If you want to keep GagSFX running, then make sure ZAP also does not override voices.

You can keep both ZAP and DDi, of course. They both have options (in MCM) to turn on/off animation overrides. In ZAP it's under the SexLab subsection. That is also where you will find the voice override in ZAP.

Xaz - LOL, I had weird situation again. lol. I reinstalled Skyrim. Installed ZAP 6.06 main, textures and the patch. Started a new game. The game recognized ZAP 6.06 and install it. Then on the first sexual encounter via Romance mod, asking NPC for a blowjob, the game started Arok lesbian animation and immediately switched to Zapmissionary1 animation with no possibility to change it. Unfortunately when I noticed this bug, I realized that I haven't enabled trace logging in Skyri.ini. therefore, I'm unable to send you log file. But I exit the game and enabled it so I can send it to you if that happens again. Right now, I'm testing how animations will behave with disabling "most ZAP animations" in MCM menu.

 

Animations are registered by keywords, so if a mod requests an animation with "oral" content, then Arrok lesbian could start playing. Mods have to be more specific and request a "blowjob" animation. From the top of my head, this could be the issue.

 

That doesn't explain why ZAP replaced it with a missionary animation though....

 

Could you provide more information like if you or any other character in that scene were bound, restrained or similar? This helps me a lot when debugging these issues.

Do you have a log (please respond with a log in that case)? Were you bound or restrained at the time (was the armbinder animation correct)?

The actual Version overrides any other sexlab Animation, although it is total disabled.- especially with tdf Prostitution i dont see any other animation than zapanimations.

i confirm this. disabling zaz animattions will not help. sexlab tool from Goubo shows only that one zapanomiation with no alternative.

i am very angry i deleted 6.00 /patch 6.04. has anybody those and can attaqch them here please ?

 

 

You can disable ZAP animation override in the MCM. Do that and see if that fixes your problems.

 

I rarely add features that you can't disable.... (or at least I try not to). Still good to know that disabling animations did not help. Then I know exactly where to start looking at least.

It happens only with armbinder or yokes (are those from zaz or ddi? ._.)

As everyone else the animation starts with a non restrained animation (even pillory) to then switch to a restrained (with both armbinders and yokes) and only during aggressive triggers.

 

Many times rather than switching to the proper animation it ends with a broken animation on character performing an animation (i can t identify wich is maybe oral) and the other standing still.

 

Then really few times it results in CTD any time a restrained animation triggered (no way to fix it at that point needs a previous save).

 

 

Pillories works fine instead.....

 

 

 

I Always registered ZAZ still have to try without registering... Unfortunately i had some problems with my gpu and i have to wait the new arrives i will post another Papyrus when i will be able.

Did you check zaz mcm settings there seem to be an option to turn off zaz animation override or something like that this will now use normal sexlab animations again. I was having the same error with miaslair and never checked the zaz part for animations override.

 

 

There is an option to disable most zaz scripts called Disable all.

 

If i turn it of does will mods requiring zaz still work?

 

P.S. Disabling it still does the same but i notice it happens only with "aggressive" animations with restraints.

 

lets say for example i get oral w/armbinder animation triggered by a consensual dialogue... it runs smoothly.

But if the same is triggered by an aggressive animation it first call a normal sexlab animation that switches to a restraint animation (that can be even the same oral W armbinder) and no way to change position with sexlab button.

 

in this case sometimes i get even a wrong animation in wich one character stands still and another does another animation.

 

Also i suspect that sometimes this causes animations with restraints to go crazy and from then on they will result in CTD. (resetting SL or zaz from Mcms doesn t solve).

 

 

"Disable All" does indeed turn of ZAP mostly, though not this part. I don't think that should be used anymore, and I'll probably remove it in the coming versions, since it doesn't do what it says, and it's legacy anyway (I've not actively maintained it).

 

There are many reasons for CTD, but I doubt this is something ZAP does. Buggy scripts will not cause a CTD, at least I've never seen one that does.

 

This is good info, at least. The animation replacement system will refuse to give you a "loving" animation if "aggressive" was specified. Maybe this is the source of the problem? I'll have a look at this some more ....

 

Again, if you try this again, try to get me a log. ZAP will tell me all I need to know about internal decisions taken, so that really helps a lot.

Then you are lucky.

 

I - on a brand new save, as I always after startup make a new game "my jumpstart" to boost the loading of the main save - 

with "only" .05 + .06 could wait for 15 minutes in the start cell, and even reload afterwards, and not get it.

 

Then reverting back, and just overwriting, I made my jumpstart game and it appeared rather fast. Also the maingame I loaded afterwards got it.

 

There are many reasons for why MCM does not load ZAP. One reason is that another mod is hanging, and MCM is timing out. There is nothing ZAP can do about this. All of the ZAP setup code is done outside of the MCM registration loop (async) to make sure that ZAP is not the problem.

 

Make sure that you have the latest ZAP patch though, because there was an initialization bug in 6.05.

excuse me, but how do you start the leash part?

 

Leash is for modders only atm, and no mods have picked it up yet.

I need a bit of help figuring something out. I am trying to set up an animation using the 'DefineAnimationFromEntry' function that would use either ZazAPCAO305 or ZazAPCAO309 (chained animations) in place of the Pillory animation (keep the person outside it, replace the pillory anim). Unfortunately I am not quite getting my head wrapped around the command. Any assistance is appreciated.

 

Short answer:

I'm not 100% what you're asking for. "DefineAnimationFromEntry" helps setting up a SexLab animation. Is that what you want to do? If it's not defined in zbfSexLab.psc, then you'll have to set up the SexLab animation manually, which isn't hard to do. (But a longer answer than the "long answer" below.)

 

Long answer:

zbfSexLab.psc is only for SexLab integration. If you're interested in how it works and what it does, then I suggest the documentation as an entry point (in the docs folder, see zbfSexLab.html).

 

 

I think this summary more or less explains it:

Since it's not feasible to define every set of combination of bindings and animations, this module defines a set of building blocks to dynamically set up animations.

 

To accomplish this, it also needs to know what kind of animations are available to the system to use as building blocks. If, for instance, an armbinder animation is not available for the female of a specific sex pose, then that pose can't be used if the female is wearing an armbinder (or at least it would look weird).

i am trying to trouble shoot the new zaz version 6.0.6 ever since updating to this version my animations keeps failing allot. also mods are no longer showing the animations they are suppose to show like blow job suddenly becomes missionary etc.. Also 3some animations are longer working right.

 

also after the newest version the animations are no longer being registred in sexlab mcm menu. i am using the new 1.60 alpha 3 sexlab.

 

1. Animation replacement problem: If you can provide me a log, that help tons. Can you explain what kind of bindings you were wearing, the animation you expected to see, and the animation you received (SexLab helpfully outputs some of this info even to the console).

 

You can turn of ZAP SexLab animation replacement in the ZAP MCM. Though, if you feel like helping me out, help me get that log. :) It works fine for me, so there's something I'm not getting in the problem reports.

 

2. I think I've tested this with SexLab, but I'll make a note of it and make sure that registration succeeds in the new versions. Logs are really helpful here, and save me lots of time debugging problems (especially the ones I can't see myself).

override will still not function with the latest 6.06 something is conflicting with sexlab making some animation no longer to work with mods like miaslair, submit defeat etc.. Also 3some even though i selected them in mcm will still not work.i am going back to older version.

Have the same problem and in the end that results in zaz or sexlab breaking ..

 

Someone mentioned something about disabling zaz override over sexlab animations but i  didn t get how to do that.

 

Even with override disabled animations that suppose to trigger fails to trigger and another is chosen. override is found in zaz mcm under sexlab section you should see about animation override.

 

But it still was not working.

 

What changed was that I added support for overriding animations. Obviously other changes too, but if you're not using ZAP's api then you shouldn't expect any differences.

 

It's really weird that disabling override doesn't help. I'm looking at the code now, and the override is conditionally set to run only if override is set to True. Also tested it locally, and disabling the overrides works on my setup.

I'm getting the exact same problem as others are having.

 

When i start sex with matchmaker, it starts briefly a NSAP animation, then quickly resets it to some ZAPmissionary animation etc.

 

 

The only reason i use ZAP is because it's a dependancy for fill her up. Cum expel animation.

 

For normal sex i just use NSAP animations.

 

 

But zap is blocking everything now. I can't switch to another animation with "o" hotkey anymore.

 

Any fix?

 

There is a disable option that works well for me. Check under MCM, ZAP, SexLab (submenu), "Override if needed". Disable that one, and all should work.

 

If you want to help me out, please help me with a log of the problem, and some info about the bondage gear you were wearing. ZAP should not do anything if you're not wearing any bondage items.

 

This counts for DD items as well, of course.

I also have the same issue with the animations as mentioned above. I'm using SL 1.59c and when I went back to 6.00 with patch 6.04 everything works OK. I've tried to disable the animation swapping and it didn't help.

You know that Devious Devices uses more or less the exact same replacement method that ZAP uses? If that didn't cause you any troubles (and don't cause any problems with downgraded ZAP), that utterly confuses me. :)

 

A log of the problem would be nice, or a very descriptive use-case. The info I need is:

 

1. What devices are you wearing.

2. What animation(s) are playing.

3. Anything else that you observed?

 

Interesting question - those that are having this issue:  are you using the 1.60 alpha of sexlab?  Or the current 1.59c?  I am using 1.59c and I am not seeing this problem.

Same as you, SL1.59c. :) And I don't have any of DD mods installed.

I confirm I am not using ANY key to change the animations or similar. The list of mods used for this example is only Sexlab 1.59c, Zaz Anim Pack 6.06, a skeleton, a body, FNIS, and the mod I am working on (Cum Shot Brothel.)
 
I had this problem many times after the installation of Zaz 6.06, and here I am running on a brand new clean save.
This error never happen with the previous versions (Used a lot the version 6.04.)

Is it intentional? If it is intentional, can it be stopped by some API call? Because of this "animation switch" the scenes I made are not more working.
A second info: this does not happen always, it happen in about 50% of cases.

No worries! This is the first log of the problem that I see. Too bad you didn't have ZAP logging turned on. If possible, could you get a log of the same with ZAP logging turned on?

 

There is not yet an api for this, but I will make one available, as there are mods out there such as yours that don't want this. The feature itself has been requested a lot of times on this forum, so I'm assuming it's what many users want (when it's working, which seems to be an issue now?).

 

You can turn this off for yourself in the ZAP MCM, check under "SexLab" and there's an "override if needed" that you can uncheck.

When I run FNIS only with Sexlab and Zaz animation pack 6.06 installed there's an array out of bounds error, i'm pretty sure it's caused by the Zaz animation pack. When I run it again there's no error but my game crashes instantly when I want to play.

 

It probably is not due to ZAP alone.

 

For support on the tool itself, you'll have to contact Fore. If you can't generate the animation files, then the game won't run correctly.

I am trying to set up an animation using the 'DefineAnimationFromEntry' function that would use either ZazAPCAO305 or ZazAPCAO309 (chained animations) in place of the Pillory animation (keep the person outside it, replace the pillory anim). Unfortunately I am not quite getting my head wrapped around the command. Any assistance is appreciated.

 

Short answer:

I'm not 100% what you're asking for. "DefineAnimationFromEntry" helps setting up a SexLab animation. Is that what you want to do? If it's not defined in zbfSexLab.psc, then you'll have to set up the SexLab animation manually, which isn't hard to do. (But a longer answer than the "long answer" below.)

 

Long answer:

zbfSexLab.psc is only for SexLab integration. If you're interested in how it works and what it does, then I suggest the documentation as an entry point (in the docs folder, see zbfSexLab.html).

Since it's not feasible to define every set of combination of bindings and animations, this module defines a set of building blocks to dynamically set up animations.

 

To accomplish this, it also needs to know what kind of animations are available to the system to use as building blocks. If, for instance, an armbinder animation is not available for the female of a specific sex pose, then that pose can't be used if the female is wearing an armbinder (or at least it would look weird).

 

 

 

Yes, that is what I intend to do. The animations would be used in controlled conditions so I can use some combinations that would not make sense otherwise, especially with some of the chained poses. I will take a look at the docs and see what I can figure out from there.

You can retrieve new temporary animations from SexLab, SexLabFramework::NewAnimationObject. You can then later on make it permanent without registering it, unless you want to register it of course.

 

To play the animation you need to set up a new SexLab thread, from SexLabFramework::NewThread.

 

This thread needs to be configured. Since this is a bunch of code, I'd look in zbfSexLab function zbfSexLab::SetupSexLabActors for what you can and need to configure.

 

This is how ZAP does it.

The full flow of code is available in zbfSexLab::StartSex, but of course, that function does slightly more (and to some degree less) than what you want, since you can't use zbfSexLab::DefineAnimation.

 

You probably will not need to use zbfSexLab support functions, but feel free to do so if you want.

Hello @xaz and @ZaZ. I am reporting a small problem on the latest version (6.06):

 

 

In some cases the animation selected by SexLab or by the mod (in case of a specific one) is then replaced AFTER IT STARTS by another Zaz animation.

Thanks for your replay Xaz.

I see that many users requested it. But sadly has a huge impact on soft mods, that uses Zaz Anims but not in an intensive way.

 

About the replacement of animation I can activate the Zaz log and send it to you as soon as I see again the "wrong" replacement.

 

 

My small recommendation for the API or the improved replacement of anims:

use three values:

1) never replace (anims will play only when explicitly requested by a mod)

2) replace only if a matching anim is found (so don't replace breastfeeding anims...)

3) replace everything no matter what.

I may have found the bug.

 

If you experience the "invalid replacing" bug, could you check if

1. Are you wearing any devices? (Which)

2. Are there males or females involved in the animation? Both?

 

Current theory is that animations involving only females should work, but if a male is involved, they replace even when they should not. Unless that option is disabled, which I still can't explain.

Primarily I am looking to do variations of the pillory sex animations and just use different positions for the person bound. Right now I am looking at the Function where the Pillory animation is set up would I just replace the female animation with 'ZazAPCAO309'? Also, would this automatically add the chains or would I have to do something else to have them equipped? As for using the animation I have been able to get specific positions by name already so hopefully what I have for that will work here as well.
