I tried this promising mod yesterday, and I can report a few bugs, some people already had.

 

I tried the 003 version.

 

Bugs:

 

*In front of the undressing chest, the city guard who captured you is sometimes stuck, and you can't be freed for undress.

*No punishment happened with PC in the jail. The guard opene the door, and nothing happened.

 

This same problem.

Keeping a close eye on this, it looks really awesome, and may inspire me to finally make my Thieves Guild character. Is there any chance that we might have our characters put in the pillory in Markarth eventully, prior to being shoved into the mines? The idea of a character being 'used' in a pillory is very alluring and it would be the first mod to do so. Though the ravaging would likely only happen at night, as I doubt the men of Markarth want to be too obvious if front of other people.

 

Are the guards eventually going to demand services from the PC in general? Or will it stay around thing like whipping? Because it would be a shame to miss out on the ol' whambam.

Few questions...

 

(1. Is this focused on females or will you make it compatiable for both genders?

(2. Will you add future content that caters toward a straight player?

(3. Will you add npc support?

1. Your PC can be either gender, and you can be arrested by guards of either gender.

2. This mod doesn't force you to play either way. It doesn't alter genders or so, so whatever experience you prefer is up to you.

3. No. That would be a completely different mod.

 

For some reason this dosen't work for me well it only worked once, every other time I couldn't drop my items because the menu button wouldnt work or my character was not able to enter the jail cell thus being stuck forever.

The easiest thing is probably to reload your last saved game, because the game auto saves on your way to prison. The bug is random, if it is what I think it is. A fix is coming.

hi there ive got the zaz animation 003 installed and it works because i have Sanguine's Debauchery and that works fine but when i have this on it ctd at logo,every time then when removed its fine again..im a big fan of your other mods but do you know why its crashing?thanks=)

This is exactly the way I wanted to go when I wrote Crime and Punishment.  The first version I released worked exactly the same way as yours, with the player forced to follow, but I ditched this and re-wrote it due to the ridiculous problems with the PC following up and down stairs which I could not solve.  I eventually gave up as too many people reported it broke their game and I had no idea why.

 

Good luck with this mod.  I hope you have more success than I.

Weeeell, I guess you can see where the inspiration came from. ... as they say: Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. ;)

this mod just crashes at the menu screen for me now

 

nvm, works now, but I've got the staring guard issue too

how did you get past the CTD at menu? share please=)

tl:dr: Rough Times and Prison Overhaul aren't incompatible, but neither will the mods cooperate in any way.

why not cooperate ^^ may save you both time and theres enough to add from all ends and focus i think. cheers

 

 

Maybe we should. From my point of view, the problem is that my mod isn't anywhere near usable, with the current amount of bugs. When I get them ironed out, I'm in a better position to consider merging mods and so on. :)

*The leading to the jail looks work fine. I noticied the PC is sometime AI controlled, sometimes not. I don't know of it's normal, but it's not a problem, as I was able to rejoin every time.

*PC blocked in front of the jailcell, no move possible.

*PC get the door in the face when entering in the cell - PC blocked.

*No punishment happened with PC in the jail. The guard opene the door, and nothing happened.

 

I noticed that every time my PC was stuck in any of these situations, I saved and reloaded that same same, and the script was able to continue (but not for the jail punishment).

 

Anyway, this mod will be great, keep the good work! :D

Thanks for the bug report! I think the problem is essentially the same in all these cases, maybe with the punishment scene as an exception.

 

For some reason the ai forgets what it's doing and just stands there. It can take from a few seconds to a few minutes (in real time, unfortunately), before the ai comes around and sorts things out.

 

You kind of wish there was a function or so to wake the ai up, ... oh, but there is... except it doesn't work. :)

 

Anyway, I'm going to try and find a workaround for this...

 

Where should I place the whip mark textures from Paradise Halls?

In your place, I'd just install it as normal, just not keep it enabled. I'll try to find/make some whip marks, then integrate those into Zaz Animation Pack (which this mod uses anyway).

Sorry, no idea. This mod doesn't do anything strange or interact with SD in any way I can think of. It could be some other mod, maybe something which changes guard dialogue or prison/crime? Just ideas from the top of my head.

sorry my fault i wasnt very clear before its not SD fault i dont know what it is even when SD is not in my mods it still doesnt work=(sneak tools maybe?

Realistically, if you could pull off (besides what you've already done) having the guards take (at the least) your equipped armor and weapons during the march to jail and implement a cleaner escape system than CAP (possibly something like what Rough Times does, you can run but you don't auto-remove your bonds), then you've basically accomplished my original goal with the changes to CAP I did personally (albeit sort of broken) and then lost because I uninstalled the mod without backing up the .esp and scripts. Not that I could release it anyways, but it was a fun mod.

 

On this note, the reduced speed from the ankle shackles could come in handy. It would stop easy escape, but if the guard becomes busy with some other issue (like combat), you could stroll away during the ruckus. That was my big issue with CAP: I loved the idea of escaping during the march, but it was way too easy.

 

My current progress with CCRT is just creating a "Jailer/whatever" NPC sitting around outside Whiterun that will start a "Busted!" quest and move the character to a jail that I need to get started on (right now, it just moves you to the Execution Chamber I created, except outside the death pit). From there, I find it would be easier to implement any punishments. I had to ditch most that work though because I was literally trying anything I could that accomplish what I wanted and I didn't want to continue work on an .esp with a bunch of garbage in it.

 

Once I get something on that working right, getting the character into said jail would be pretty easy. Submit to jail, CCRT Bounty set to Current Bounty, put PC into bound pose with dpc, have guard move towards his/her position and initiate dialog. But you could start said quest almost any time you wanted. My thought was that petty crimes would lead to a short stint in whatever hold you are wanted in. But I wanted major crimes to require some kind of "Imperial Jailer." This is provided I get some actual time to work on it as multiple issues are kicking my ass in life right now.

 

Anyways, I'm ranting. V4 still has issues that I'm sure you're aware of. The AI control for Skyrim is just garbage. I hope you can find a way around it, but part of the fun of CAP was "Move Along," "oh yea? I've recovered enough health, I'm out of here." Also, the vanilla footwraps for Skyrim are garbage, at least when using a modded body. I deleted them out of all the prisoner outfits for CCRT. Just a suggestion.

I also have the problem that nothing is happening when in jail.

The Guard moves me to the undressing chest, gag and cuffs are taken away from me (clothes are not taken away),

but then nothing happens. I already have waited for over one ingame hour (default timescale) to wait for the punishment scene and everything, but zip - nothing

Sadly, the scripts work (usually fairly well) for me. Sometimes the ai feels like stalling for like 30s or so, but apart from that, they seem to be doing what they should.

 

All of you who experience these problems: have you tried watching the game for 60s to see if the ai starts moving again (no rest/wait, and no save/reload)? It's still a serious issue, but at least then I'd know I'm chasing the same problem as you are.

 

My theory on why save/reload works is that this forces the ai to start up. If this is the case, I know what the problem is.

 

Also ... kind of a strange question, perhaps, but does the mod work for anyone but me? ;) I don't release something unless I think it has a chance of working, so it's been tested on my setup.

 

Edit:

Things to try:

Start with a save where this mod wasn't enabled.

Open the console, target the guard and type "evp". This'll reevaluate ai packages for the guard.

Punishment doesn't happen until you're in the cell (and many people report that even then it's bugging).

 

When you move to the undress chest, try accessing the inventory and take off all your stuff. Or you could access the console and type "player.unequipall" which does that for you. If you are still stuck, it's a bug (which many have reported).

I had the problem of getting stuck in front of the chest unable to move (you should turn on genreal subtitles make you get the command to remove your clothes) but I remedied this problem by going into the console by hitting ` and then type in "player.unequipall" without quotation marks. As for the problem with the punishment scene, I have had this problem as well though I have found no solution in getting it to work. The guard opens the gate and walks into the room but after that it is as though I have been freed because nothing happens and no one tries to stop me from leaving.

If you're having issues, try a save where my mod has not yet been loaded/enabled (pseudo clean save, I guess).

Tried  in a new game too. Unfortunately the problems persist from v3. Always have to save and reload for it to clear up and proceed, only during the part where you enter the jail cell. After unequipping your items, you just move a bit before coming to a halt, and you have to reload. Plus the guard just enters the cell after waiting for more than an hour and just stands there, the punishment scene not triggering.
