Papyrus Help Needed! :)

Hey there! ^_^

 

There've been a few threads lately about CTD's at or near startup, and various little quirks that seem to cause them.

 

This got me to thinking - I *do* get the odd seemingly random CTD at or near startup, but it seems to be just that, random. Sometimes it won't happen at all for days, then all of a sudden it happens five times in a row while trying to load-up my game.

 

I hadn't paid too much attention to it - it was occasional, and as far as I could tell at my end it wasn't really tied to any specific thing. It seemed to be the VRAM apparently taking a swift kick to the knackers as much as anything else ("VR freezing/VR thawing", etc.)

 

On the off-chance it might be something more serious which is gnawing on my savegames, I've attached a copy of my most recent Papyrus logs. If anyone who knows their stuff was able to take a very quick look at these & let me know if anything serious was up, I would be very grateful indeed! :huh:

Well, since I'm guess you haven't changed you load order lately I'm red flagging it as the problem. You should cause your papyrus log isn't showing any scripting errors that would cause CTDs but your messy load order does throw out some red flags.

 

So use BOSS and sort anything that's unrecognized by category. e.g. Put any unsorted clothing mods with the BOSS sorted ones and so on. Once that's done test it and if it still crashes. You get the fun task of removing esps since even clothing mods in a busted esp can cause crashes.

 

The easiest way to do it is to put in 50-70 esps that you already know are save (USKP, ect) and then play around in game. After that put in your clothing mods, since they tend to be small and not hurt anything if they're save. Then put in your riskier and global changing mods that effect more than just you player character like level list changes and such. Should be able to find the problem without to much trouble.

I have now uninstalled a few things which I wasn't 100% sure about, re-started, etc. I could not pin it down to anything specific, so I have opted for a full reinstall of the game. I junked the lot - the game, the saves, the mods (plus cache & everything else), .ini's, and the entire contents of my Skyrim folder except for screens, SKSE, and ENB. It's been a wobbly install from the start (latest S.T.E.P. guide - I think I'll stop using it), and I won't be sorry to see the back of it...

 

Just opened with pure Vanilla a short time ago. Weird thing is - I'm *still* getting those script errors. Here's a log:

USKP fixes a lot of that. You have to realize that vanilla Skyrim is messy. Your going to see scripting errors and have a higher chance of quest scripts breaking without it.

I remember seeing those Serana scripts getting removed when I clean with TES5Edit.
